Salwa. Taking whatever happens, such as sickness, suffering, and happiness, onto the path. Adorned with methods for accomplishing the welfare of others and scattered instructions. The first part has two sections: first, the order of practice, and then the actual order of view. The first is: First, the three of body, speech, and mind...etc., it is said, "One who enters the path is called intelligent." Therefore, first, like the practice of some who meditate on compassion, examine which of the three, body, speech, and mind, is most important, and then recognize that mind is extremely important, and then rest in the natural state, thereby calming the mind. Then, in order to understand the nature of the mind, examine what color, shape, etc., the mind has. Examine whether it is permanent, truly existent, or annihilated, and nothing at all. By eliminating the extremes of permanence and annihilation, calm the mind in that state. Again, in order to stabilize the samadhi of mind-holding, place the mind in the state of clear awareness, and abiding without forgetting is called mindfulness. Distraction from that is identified as conceptual thought and then introduced onto the path. This is the very instruction of abiding, moving, and recognizing that is now widely known. Then, here, combining in a way that is roughly similar in progress and direction to the four yogas of Mahamudra, the mind abides single-pointedly without conceptualization, and all conceptual thoughts dissolve or disappear into the essence of the mind, but sometimes awareness enters an object or is distracted by an object, thereby arising and spreading conceptual thoughts. However, this is like light radiating from the depths of the mind, merely a movement that does not cause much harm, and mindfulness becomes stable. It is said that in the clear part of the absence of conceptual thoughts and emptiness, like unobstructed appearance, it is single-pointed. By becoming accustomed to this, the order of how mindfulness holds also becomes like abiding in the self-nature of emptiness, and the essence of mindfulness-holding awareness spontaneously arises with the experience of emptiness, and through the power of experience, it equally expands into non-action emptiness. Arising realization, and the holding of the experience of single-pointedness also disappears in that state, which is freedom from elaboration. By repeatedly becoming accustomed to this, the meaning of abiding in the state where the essence of appearance and emptiness are inseparable is realized, and the two aspects of appearance and emptiness cannot be separated, becoming one taste, and the holding of the experience of emptiness is also purified, and abiding unmoving in that state is one taste. There is not even a slight effort in this.

There is no need to strive to practice, nor is there a need to be non-distracted, but to abide in the great state of naturalness, which is non-meditation. When entering such a path, if combined with the Dzogchen self-tradition, the flow of mind dissolves into awareness, and awareness abides in its natural state. If combined with the four mindfulnesses, one-pointedness is the mindfulness of concentration, non-elaboration is the mindfulness of emptiness, one taste is the mindfulness of non-distraction, and non-meditation is said to be the mindfulness beyond thought. This is only similar to combining with the four yogas of Mahamudra. Otherwise, in the Mahamudra of the Kagyu self-tradition, each of them is divided into small, medium, and large, divided into nine levels. Moreover, the methods of combining with the stages of ground and path, etc., although there is an independent system for the manner of proceeding from the beginning to the completion of the qualities of abandonment and realization, it is not elaborated. Generally speaking, Mahamudra is taught in both the Sutra and Tantra systems. In any case, Panchen Rinpoche Lobsang Chokyi Gyaltsen, the master of the Gelug oral tradition, said: "Pacification, Chöd, Dzogchen, and the guidance of the Madhyamaka view, etc., although there are many different names, if a yogi who is proficient in scriptures and reasoning and has experience examines them, they will find that their intention converges into one." In the biography of the yogi Drukpa Kunley, it is also said: "All dharmas have the same intention, the perfection of Dzogchen, the Madhyamaka that has no need to fix the target in one direction, the Pacification that pacifies thoughts in their own place, the Chöd that directly cuts off whatever arises, the Mahamudra where reality transcends thought, etc., are the same except for the different names." As it is said, the key to the practice is the intention of the views of Mahamudra, Dzogchen, and Madhyamaka. Therefore, by knowing that the intention converges into one, cultivate the pure appearance without bias, and do not be like looking at the yak's incomplete grass with one eye. Machig Labdrön Rinpoche also said: "My teaching, the Chöd of demons, the key to this view is the instruction of the non-contradiction of Mahamudra, Dzogchen, and Madhyamaka." It is like this. Secondly, regarding the stages of the view, there are four ways: non-existence, Uniqueness, vulgarity, and spontaneous accomplishment. From the Precious Treasury of Reality: "The ultimate of the Mind Section, Space Section, and Instruction Section."
