and, demons and plagues and poisons, the great fool will die from this. Kings, fire, venomous snakes, water, dakinis, thieves, and, demons and evil guides also, having killed them, sentient beings go to hell. Never should the minds of the teachers, be disturbed at all times. If it is done out of ignorance, one will surely be tormented in hell. The terrifying hells such as Avici, the teachings of hell, what it is. Slanders against the teachers, are truly explained to abide there. Thus, the first four lines briefly explain, and the detailed explanation is, visible dharma in this life and, invisible faults of future lives, of the two, the first is, from that point on, one verse, and from the king to the evil guides having killed, between, explained. The second is, sentient beings go to hell, etc., explained. The rest is easy to understand. Other contagious diseases other than epidemic diseases known as slow plagues caused by mother dakinis, etc., plague is one day and two days, etc., those that cannot be cured, and disease is other diseases than that. Therefore, from "Resting the Mind Itself" also, some people initially enter without examining and entrusting, speaking of secret virtues and slandering behind, some people mix pretense of respect with hidden wickedness and deceit, secretly defaming the attendants of the lama, these people will have the fruit of Avici. Therefore, before relying on a lama, one must carefully examine his characteristics, but most people do not do so, Initially, like a hungry dog meeting a lung, they casually engage in listening to the Dharma, etc. At that time, new friends praise virtues and show respect, etc. Later, seeing some faults, they slander, and even when alone, they think of faults. Some people mix behavior, etc., praising on the surface and pretending to be respectful, but without faith and respect in their hearts, they secretly despise and slander, etc., deceiving with deceit and hypocrisy, and defaming all the attendants of the lama. These people have predicted the behavior of people like us now, so we must be very careful. From the "Difficult Explanation of the Black Enemy" composed by the great scholar Shantipa, it is also quoted that, just by listening to one verse, whoever to the lama

Not regarding (someone as a guru): Such a person will be born a hundred times in the abode of dogs, and after that will be born as a butcher. Thus, not only to the guru who gives empowerment and imparts instructions properly, but even to someone who listens to just one verse because they want to hear and want to learn, if someone does not regard them as a guru, then they will be born uninterruptedly a hundred times in the abode of dogs, and after that will be born as a butcher-like

English

It is said that the latter is a heavier offense than the former. In the "Fifty Verses on the Guru," it says, "Due to the fear of the sin of destroying a stupa, one should not even step on the shadow. What need is there to mention stepping on shoes, cushions, and vehicles, etc.?" Destroying a stupa is said to be a sin close to the Avici hell. Therefore, stepping on the guru's shadow is similar to that, and out of fear of that sin, one should not even step on the shadow, let alone shoes, etc. In the first chapter of the "Net of Magical Manifestation," it says, "One should not even step on his shadow, it is said to be the same as destroying a stupa." These two are equal in sin, and similarly, the faults of stepping on cushions, etc., are also mentioned many times in the tantras. In the "Net of Magical Manifestation Tantra," it says, "One should not even see in dreams those who slander the teacher." Therefore, those who slander the teacher from the heart should not be seen or associated with even in dreams. At the same time, it is said that indulging in noisy activities, etc., will prevent the attainment of siddhis. Even if one does not have faith in the guru's conduct in a dream, one should confess immediately upon waking up. In the "Play of Cyclic Existence," it says, "If in a dream, one sees the faults of the guru, one should confess immediately upon waking up. If one does not confess, this will also increase the cause of the Avici hell." In the "Collected Intentions," it says, "One should know that the guru is more important than a thousand aeons of Buddhas. Why? Because all the Buddhas of a thousand aeons arise by relying on the guru. Before the guru existed, there was not even the name of Buddha." Therefore, the guru is a very sacred object. Therefore, the tantras say, "One should take the qualities of the teacher, and never take the faults. Taking the qualities will attain siddhis, taking the faults will not achieve anything." Therefore, one should especially think about and take the qualities. If one sees faults, one should think that it is one's own impure appearance, and never intentionally take the faults. Like this, even if the guru has more qualities than faults, if one examines from the aspect of small faults, it will become an obstacle to the attainment of siddhis. Even if there are more faults than qualities, one should not examine from the aspect of faults, but should cultivate faith from the aspect of qualities, which will become the cause of producing siddhis. Fifth, the method of purifying pure perception is, in the "Vajrapani Empowerment Tantra," it says
