May all be auspicious! Sarva Mangalam! TI1618 - 406 To the primordial, inherent Samantabhadra, I prostrate with unwavering faith! If you are frightened by the terrors of the lower realms and seek the meaning of liberation, then practice the view, meditation, and conduct that pervade all meanings. Just as in the state of dreams at night, the nature of emptiness is like the vast sky, and like stars appearing in the ocean, the various appearances of the container, essence, and desirable qualities, appearing as tangible forms, are like the moon and stars in water, inseparable from the water. Similarly, the appearances of the day, the appearances of self and others, all appearing as tangible objects, are in reality unreal, the nature of empty space. Space itself is the pervasive Dharmadhatu. If you gain confidence in the manifestation of space, it is the supreme king of all views and meditations. Awareness is the eye, and the eye is awareness. Look at the seer of the Bardo of dreams. Therefore, all of Samsara and Nirvana are self-manifestations. Please gain confidence in the state of recognizing the nature of mind, and let go of the activities of body, speech, and mind, without distraction. Do not turn the wheel of feet in the kingdom, but devote yourself wholeheartedly to the essential practice, and you will obtain the fruit of enlightenment. There is no higher instruction than this. This was spoken by Dudjom Dorje, the subduer of demons, for Gyali, the cutter, may it be entirely virtuous! 4 Collection of Songs of Dudjom Collection of Songs of Dudjom T11618 - 408 Ah! Through the power of pure karma and aspiration, gathering and arriving at the right time, endowed with the qualities of the eight freedoms and ten endowments, noble and perfect beings, listen! Retreating to the mountains is truly wonderful, the qualities are beyond words. Guru Padmasambhava said: "Relying on towns and monasteries for a year, practicing meditation single-mindedly, is not as good as retreating to the mountains for seven days." The great scholar Naropa said: "Practicing in a town for a lifetime is not as good as retreating to the mountains for one day. Performing exorcism for a year is not as good as observing silence for a month." By abandoning evil places, afflictions gradually diminish. Remembering the meaning spoken many times by the Buddhas of the past, generate joy and retreat to the mountains.

No need for attachment and hatred, the mind is at ease. Above, there's no punishment from officials. Abandoning lords and officials, the mind is at ease. In the middle, there's no fighting with friends. Without close friends, the mind is at ease. Abandoning relatives, siblings, and affectionate friends. Without a place of attachment, the mind is at ease. Below, there are no servants and attendants. Without false reverence, the mind is at ease. Abandoning all homeland and villagers. Without praise and blame, the mind is at ease. Abandoning all horses, livestock, cattle, and sheep. No need for feeding and care, the mind is at ease. Manifesting the original face of the Dharmakaya. There's no reason to be disappointed in the gods. Realizing the equality of samsara and nirvana, enjoying them equally. There's no reason to doubt ghosts. Sentient beings are father TI1618 - 410 Ah! It is the nature of the mother. There's no reason for partiality between near and far. If life and practice are done simultaneously, There will be no regrets at the time of death. For those who have given up everything and abide, There's no need for excessive thoughts. For the yogi who has abandoned worldly affairs, Guiding the dead and saving the living, Making offerings and accumulating merit for others, Is a foolish act of forgetting one's own benefit. Don't imitate that, child. Abandoning the homeland and going elsewhere, Those who accept village offerings and corpse donations, Are false, self-destructive, and deceived by demons. Don't imitate that, child. Those who occupy the position of great lamas who have renounced the world, Accumulating wealth, Are deceived by white gods and demons. Don't imitate that, child. Abandoning the homeland and going to another place, Having women as companions, Enjoying and possessing many retinues. The ghost demon has entered the heart.
