Fools! Some cling to the state of non-conceptuality and empty dullness, considering it the essence of meditation, and with this self-satisfaction, they lose their way in the whirlpool of samsara. Some, because they do not understand the correct view, spend their lives merely in a state of clear emptiness. These are called being lost on the path. Being lost on a wrong path means that before reaching the end of the path, one considers meditation with experience, view, and meditation object as the ultimate, and remains in this state, eventually dying in ordinariness. These are all lost on a wrong path. There is also what is called being lost in error. What is that? First, after establishing all phenomena encompassed by samsara and nirvana as emptiness and understanding its nature, one thinks that one has realized the great emptiness of samsara and nirvana, so there is no need to accumulate mundane merit, nor is there a need for meditation and practice. They talk emptily to others, spending their lives indulging in distraction and laziness, and many eventually die in ordinariness. There are also those who, after understanding the nature of emptiness, think that there is no need for even a sesame seed's worth of practice, loudly proclaim their view, become entangled in village rituals and exorcisms, and after death, karma ripens, waiting for them is to fall into the abyss of the lower realms. This is error. Some are content with only a superficial understanding of emptiness, abandoning all meditation practices like spitting out phlegm, thinking that there is no need to keep vows and commitments, and even if they see the Buddha in person, they only have wrong views and slander, without a sesame seed's worth of faith and reverence. Regarding actions of evil karma, they would not hesitate even if it required killing their mother, and even if it required eating their father's flesh, they would eat it like nectar. They deceive others, greedily pursuing food and wealth, engaging in unwholesome deeds like taking medicine, and avoiding wholesome deeds like avoiding poison. With such evil karma, Oṃ (Tibetan: ཨོཾ, Devanagari: ओम्, Romanized Sanskrit: oṃ, Literal Chinese meaning: 嗡)! to learn emptiness is like encountering a contact poison on the path of searching for medicine to cure disease. If it becomes the root of evil karma, then emptiness will turn into ghost meditation, and in this life, one will be lost as a demon and a black Rudra. In general, if after realizing emptiness, all virtuous deeds and merit accumulation are meaningless and unnecessary, then all evil deeds, accumulation, storage, seeking, greed, hatred, and attachment should also be abandoned in the same way. But your...

Having abandoned all deeds of sin and resting in emptiness, perhaps you are flawless warriors. If you abandon virtue and engage in non-virtue, then you are certain to fall into the path of demons and devils. If you know that there is no good or evil in emptiness, then abide in the place where there is no good or evil. If it is true that you know there is no virtue and do not practice it, then there is no need to do evil either, so abandon that as well. If you know there is no sin, why do you do evil? If you think that there is no sin and engage in sinful actions as emptiness, then all sentient beings should think and act in this way, and then all sentient beings should realize emptiness. The teacher who engages in non-virtue, and those who engage in non-virtuous deeds, are they dwelling in emptiness? If you truly realize the view of emptiness, then all virtuous and non-virtuous actions should be seen as children's games, why cling to them? If you see all appearances as illusion and dream, and abandon all actions, that is the practice of emptiness. However, if you determine that there is no virtue and develop wrong views about the Dharma, and think there is no sin and freely engage in non-virtuous actions, in the end, the jailers of hell will arise from emptiness and inflict long and unbearable punishments, and when tormented endlessly in the darkness of suffering, what will he do? In this life, if you do not believe or ignore the benefits of virtuous actions, and feel ashamed and have wrong views when the faults of sins are spoken of, and finally tremble when you remember your sins at the time of death. Abandoning accumulated wealth and friends, and being afraid of the messengers of Yama. Om! Filled with unbearable fear of the suffering of hell, eyes filled with tears, beating your chest, and losing your freedom, alas! Then it is too late to regret, and it is too late to remember your sins, what is the use now? Losing the grasp of emptiness and entering the battlefield. Do not be swayed by such mistaken wrong paths, and continue to practice until you realize emptiness and reach the state of liberation, that is the key.
