Just appearing is good, and it becomes a cause for generating a feeling of happiness in the mind. Reciting with the mouth is not just speaking that becomes a cause for accumulating merit, but because the very awareness of good intention is a small part of the basis, so the fruit is also produced by it, and the entrance to these is the wisdom of Dharma itself. For example, taking water from the great ocean, If you say this is the ocean, it is not the ocean itself. Because it is a small part of the ocean, it is also not non-ocean water. Giving alms is also the same, temporarily obtaining happiness. OM. Those that appear as an entrance to the path of sentient beings, as a means of generating a little, are also the power of Dharma. For example, building a temple in a dream, Beautifully arranging various mudras as supports for the body, various letters as supports for speech, and stupas and vajra kilayas as supports for the mind, seeing these, if you dream of prostrating, offering, and circumambulating them, even if you think you have not actually done so when you wake up, you will accumulate immeasurable merit. Thus it is said. Again, Bodhisattva Wisdom Vajra asked: Venerable Bhagavan, if in this way the operation of thought turns karma into good karma, then taking good karma as the path to practice, even if you do non-virtuous deeds such as killing, will it become good karma? Please explain, Bhagavan. The Buddha said: Wisdom Vajra, knowing that the basis is sentient beings, the thought arises of killing, the action is attacking life, and ultimately it is cutting off the life force, etc., all non-virtuous deeds Are generated from the latent self-willing awareness and the awareness of other appearances. Therefore, merely transforming non-virtue with discrimination does not make it virtuous. All good and evil are not merely discrimination, because the basis is awareness, so only its operation can produce happiness and suffering, please know. Thus it is said. Again, Bodhisattva Wisdom Vajra asked: Venerable Bhagavan, if in this way, all discriminations are small parts of the Tathagatagarbha, therefore generating happiness, is merit.

The cause of thought is also conceptual thought, and the cause of creating suffering is also conceptual thought. Understanding this, please explain the difference. After this request, (the teacher) said: O Rigpa Dorje, all knowledge and conceptual thoughts are tiny parts of the Sugata-garbha, but the base consciousness is dormant and is completely awakened, and the appearance of working arises, and the fruit ripens, so the appearance of pleasure and the appearance of suffering, and the undesignated pleasure and suffering, etc., arise only from the good and bad motivations. In fact, from a hot seed comes a hot fruit, from snow comes snow, from sweet (Tibetan: ཨོཾ།, Sanskrit Devanagari: ओṃ, Sanskrit Romanization: oṃ, Chinese literal meaning: Om) The sweetness ripens in time because the cause is produced by the seed. If it is not a tiny part of the Sugata-garbha, there is no point in ripening into karmic results. Even if the appearance of happiness arises, it is only temporary without substance, so there is no essence; even if suffering is experienced, it is only temporary without real experience, but the appearance of experience arises, like a dream. For those who have accumulated bad karma, the entrance is due to the accumulation of bad karma, and happiness appears temporarily, and suffering will eventually arise; for those who have accumulated good karma, the entrance is also due to the accumulation of white karma, and the result of enduring hardships and sufferings temporarily is that the happiness of higher realms spreads and is enjoyed, and when it is exhausted, one must be transmitted from samsara to samsara and experience suffering; because the self-face of the base is obscured, ignorance itself accumulates all happiness and suffering and good and bad karma as the cause of samsara, so it will obscure the path of liberation. Therefore, those who practice meditation should strive to focus on the mind, because pleasure The various experiences of suffering arise uncertainly, and are also the function of being controlled by one grasping consciousness. So he said. Again, Bodhisattva Rigpa Dorje asked: O Teacher, Bhagavan, is there a difference between the cause and effect of good and bad karma in obscuring the self-face of the base? Please show me, Teacher! After this request, (the teacher) said: O Rigpa Dorje, even if you accumulate good karma, you are accumulating merit in samsara; even if you accumulate bad karma, you are accumulating the cause of samsara. Both of these will become the sustenance of samsara, and there is no difference in obscuring the self-face of the Dharma nature.
