Thus, having realized the true nature of the ground as it is, and with the manifest awareness taking its own place on its own, the great chronic disease of samsara is eliminated without a trace, and one abides in a state of permanent bliss. If one recognizes the awareness inherent in the ground but does not practice it, there is no benefit. It is like having gold in one's hand but not using it to trade for something that benefits one's stomach and back, and instead using the gold as a pillow and dying of famine and cold. Similarly, awareness of recognition falling into non-application is the same. Although one recognizes the wish-fulfilling jewel, if one does not show respect, the cause does not produce accomplishment. Similarly, awareness of recognition falling into non-application is the same. Although one has a beautiful and warm garment, if one does not wear it, Om (Tibetan, Devanagari: ओम्, Romanized Sanskrit: om, Literal Chinese meaning: Om), and leaves it there, dying of cold, similarly, awareness of recognition falling into non-application is the same. Although one has an abundance of food in the house, if one does not eat it and dies of starvation, similarly, awareness of recognition falling into non-application is the same. Therefore, practicing at the end of knowing and realization is the most important of all, so know this. Thus he spoke. Furthermore, the Bodhisattva Awareness Vajra: "O Teacher, Blessed One, is there a difference between the mistake of someone who recognizes and the mistake of someone who does not recognize?" The Blessed One replied: "Son of lineage, for example, there is no difference between a person who knows the road getting lost and a person who does not know the road going astray. There is no difference between someone who recognizes an enemy being robbed and someone who does not recognize an enemy being robbed. There is no difference between someone who knows there is a cliff falling into the cliff and someone who does not know there is a cliff falling into the cliff. Likewise, there is not even a sesame seed's worth of difference between these two." Thus he spoke. Again, Awareness Vajra: "Blessed One, what vehicle is said to be the state of knowing such qualities, complete with all virtues? I beseech the Blessed One to reveal it." The Blessed One replied: "Awareness Vajra, the ground is the Sugata-garbha, not made good by goodness, not transformed into bad by bad sentient beings, free from the eight extremes of elaboration, liberation."

Possessing the three doors (body, speech, and mind), knowing the reasons and ways in which all the play of body and wisdom is spontaneously perfect is realization, and this is the superior distinction from other vehicles. Although knowing the ground to be emptiness is a common practice for other vehicles, this perfect Bodhicitta is the unsurpassed distinction of this swift path. It is called the true Bodhicitta, or the profound secret Great Perfection, the supreme fruition vehicle. Thus it was said. Furthermore, Rigpe Dorje said: "Bhagavan, please explain what is the nature of body and wisdom?" Oṃ (藏文:ཨོཾཿ,梵文天城体:ओम्,梵文罗马拟音:om,汉语字面意思:嗡) After asking this, he was instructed: "O Rigpe Dorje, what is called body is like this: In the deluded appearances of sentient beings, many doors for accumulating merit arise. For example, even in the act of prostration, standing up and sitting down are not the accumulation of merit. However, the faith and reverence of knowing how to prostrate, and the conceptual thought of thinking that prostration is virtuous, knowing that the meaning of generating a mass of merit from this is a subtle part of the Sugata-garbha of the ground, therefore it is the entrance to it. And the act of taking steps in circumambulation is not the accumulation of merit, but the very awareness of circumambulation is a subtle part of the Sugata-garbha, so it will generate a mass of merit, and it is the entrance to it. Building images and stupas is also not the accumulation of merit by piling up earth and stones, but the very idea of doing good is a subtle part of the Sugata-garbha, so it will generate a mass of merit, and it is the entrance to it. Offering lamps is also not the accumulation of merit by burning lamps, but the very idea of making offerings is each a subtle part of the Sugata-garbha, so it will generate a mass of merit, and it is the entrance to it. Offering water is also not the accumulation of merit by filling water bowls, but the very idea of offering water generates merit, so it is the entrance to it. Furthermore, whatever offerings are made, if there is no one to take the essence of the objects, then the fact that they remain there is evident, so it will not turn into the accumulation of merit, but the idea of generating virtuous merit will be temporary in the future as well.
