Homage. What things and actions can be accomplished? What is truly accomplished, please point out. Similarly, the appearance of dreams and whether they are consistent, And whether there is any difference in the length of time and the amount of quantity between the two, please observe. Between samsara and nirvana, between delusion and non-delusion, There is no difference that can be distinguished. If one considers dreams to be deluded and untrue, and daytime appearances to be non-deluded and true, Then, in daytime appearances, are Buddhas non-deluded, And in dreams, are sentient beings considered deluded? If so, samsara and nirvana both change places in one night, and one resolves to have no hope for either, Or, even if both are delusions, but one thinks that there is truth and falsehood in delusion, then there is no point in having differences in delusional appearances. Taking what is not to be what is, is called delusional appearance. In your dream, this is a dream. Is it that you don't distinguish between truth and falsehood, thinking this is an illusion? Is there no hatred for enemies, No attachment to relatives, No expectation for good people, No suspicion for bad people? If not, during the day, one gives rise to true attachment to all good and bad, pleasure and pain, and sensual pleasures, and considers them to be true, And in dreams, one also considers them to be true, and if there is true attachment just like daytime appearances, then you are creating false and deceptive appearances in your own mind, and giving rise to true attachment there, look at this self-deceiving state. Amazing! The freedom of appearance, due to the power of conceptual thought, the appearance of flowing in all directions arises, from just the appearance of taking and leaving steps, forms and so on spread uncertainly, and dissolve into the dharmadhatu at the same time, Mountains and valleys, dwellings and possessions, everything is earlier and later, not that the former is left behind and the latter arrives, but in the blink of an eye, all appearances dissolve into the dharmadhatu, and then arise, know that! Thus it was said. Again, the freedom of appearance says: The dharma of appearance, which has always been there People and places, all regions, are not different but gathered together, that is also thought to appear in the gate of the senses, rather than thinking that the former dissolves into the dharmadhatu and the latter arises again. The appearance and state of all the dharmas of appearance do not change, appearing as one taste, What is that state like? Teacher, you

Please show me. After asking this, (the Buddha) said: Alas! Lord of Appearances, it is not like that. Do you think that the rainbow that appeared in the sky before, and the rainbow that appears today, are the same? Do you think that the clouds and mists, the thunder, the rain and hail that fell in the sky before, and the occurrence of these today, are the same? Do you think that all the appearances of the body and sensual pleasures in dreams, and the appearances of the day, are the same? If you think so, then when all these do not appear, observe the state of where they are. There is not the slightest difference in the shape, form, color, and all the states of all these. Do you think that the people and beings that appear during the day, and the ones you dream of in dreams, are different? If you think they are the same, then in the appearances of the day, people have diseases and are struck by weapons, and deaths appear, but in dreams, they do not appear like that. Places and lands, etc., have various phenomena such as land collapses and landslides, but those dissimilarities, etc., show signs from their own places. All phenomena of appearance are mistaken by clinging to what is non-existent and unestablished as permanent. In fact, for phenomena that are unestablished, impermanent, and changing, the mere appearance itself is emptiness, and knowing the state of being nowhere to be found is the essence of all tantras, teachings, and instructions, so know it! Thus he spoke. Again, the Lord of Appearances said: Like that, all phenomena appear even though they are non-existent. Like this, if all phenomena of appearance are definitely empty from the beginning, then there is no need to determine it, and it is enough to think that one's own emptiness is sufficient, how is that? Please, Teacher, show me yourself. After asking this, (the Buddha) said: Alas! Lord of Appearances, although all sentient beings are of the nature of selflessness, nowhere, and emptiness, because they do not recognize that, they wander endlessly in the cycle of the three realms and cling to it as real. Like this, if you determine the nature of non-existent emptiness, realize it as it is, and manifest the state, then that is the essence of the nature of practice and the correct path, the teachings, instructions, and supreme essence of the perfectly enlightened Buddha, so know it! If you do not realize that, then emptiness becomes unpredicted, so it is neither beneficial nor harmful. If you know the state of emptiness, then that is the wisdom of realizing selflessness.
