The Lord of Light said: 'O Teacher, Blessed One, if we examine and analyze in this way, the head does not have the scope to accommodate the appearance of outer and inner contents, nor is it a limb, nor is it the torso, but consciousness. Has it left the body and seen another place?' After saying this, the Blessed One replied: 'O Lord of Light, if, as you say, the body and consciousness are separated, and consciousness leaves the body, from which door does it go out? And when it returns to the body, from which door does it enter, point it out. The place in the dream, from here, which direction, which position, above or below is it? Is the place in the dream, the appearance of all outer and inner contents, the same as what is seen during the day? Or is it different? Tell me.' After saying this, the Bodhisattva said: 'I have not seen the door, nor have I determined the directions of east, south, west, and north, I think it is another place.' After saying this, the Blessed One replied: 'If you think there is a door to enter and exit, then during the day, in the house, inside and outside, the door to enter and exit is visible, and it can also be determined. If it is certain that you have gone to a certain direction in this place, then all the outer and inner contents are the same as what is seen during the day, then it is not a dream. If after the separation of body and consciousness, it is possible to enter again, then all dead beings should be able to return to their own bodies again. If at night the body and consciousness are separated, and the body's temperature does not disappear, and it does not become a corpse, then there would be no loss of temperature at the time of death. If you think that the appearance of day and night is the same, then is sleep interrupted or not? If you think they are different, then is one superimposed on the other, or are they interconnected inside and out? In any case, tell me what you think.' After saying this, he asked again: 'O Teacher, Blessed One, if we examine and analyze in this way, if we have gone to another place, the body will also become a corpse, and all outer and inner contents should be the same, so sleep should not be interrupted, and at the time of death, there should also be a way to return to the body, and if the appearance of day and night is different, then one appearance should be superimposed on the other, and if you think they are the same, then there is no difference between day and dream, so day merges into the Dharmadhatu, and the dream appears.' After saying this, the Lord of All Manifestations and Adornments said again to the Blessed One: 'O Teacher, Blessed One,'

If this past body exists, it must depend on the causes and conditions of parents; because the flaws of the appearance not remaining and transforming are revealed, why do these parents appear? Why does this body appear? Please, Teacher, personally explain! After asking this, the Buddha said: O Lord of Appearances, for a body to be accomplished, there must be two parents; however, the intermediate state body, the dream body, the body born from heat and moisture, and those born miraculously, although there is a body appearance, there are no parents. If you think that this body is accomplished depending on two parents, then before sentient beings with bodies appeared, where did the first father come from? Where did he reside? Where did he ultimately go? The mother is also the same, observe the state of these three: birth, dwelling, and going! Similarly, examine the parents and ancestors of this present body in order! Realize! Thus he said. The Lord of Appearances said: Teacher, Blessed One! Because I have ascertained the appearance, I wonder if it is merely appearing as non-existent in my own appearance? Is it so or not, please Teacher, personally explain! After asking this, the Buddha said: O great man, do not think like that! If, like you, all appearances (Tibetan: ཨོཾ,Devanagari: ओ,IAST: oṃ,Literal meaning: Om) are ascertained, because you see that everything is emptiness, and ultimately determine that it appears as non-existent only to you, but it is not necessarily emptiness, then this is stamping emptiness on non-emptiness, and merely training the mind to see non-existence in existence; reciting emptiness in conventional truth, but clinging to existence in ultimate truth, if you think that it is not established from your own perspective, then merely understanding that you are empty, this selflessness of the person, has fallen into the view of the Hearers. Ascertain all appearances and existences as like the ten similes of illusion, just as from the magician, other than the object of appearance, nothing else is established, at the time of appearance, the appearer also disappears into his own nature, you must recite that it is not established in reality, you must know that this is the emptiness of ultimate truth! Thus he said. The Lord of Appearances said: I think like this: this is not the appearance of one sentient being, if all three realms are merely my appearance, then when my appearance changes, all the appearances of the three realms must also change, die, disappear, and decay in the same way, it must be determined like this; but it is not like that, so I those people in that place, the appearance from that
