When (wisdom) dissolves into the Dharmadhatu, when (the eighth) consciousness is purified at the base, from all the qualities of the Buddhas, even to the distinctions of the bhumis and paths, it is not like the conceptual thoughts of the mind that arise and cease, change and transform, but is the great self-arisen, self-manifesting (wisdom), which is also called the wisdom of knowing as it is. The wisdom of the path is that very moment when the obscurations of the alaya are removed, and the doors of various appearances are not obstructed. In short, wisdom is the consciousness (presented by) the sound appearance and power that dissolves into the inner radiance. Hey! Son of the lineage, the distinction between mind and wisdom is as follows: What is called mind is the nature of samsara; the cause is ignorance; the appearance is illusion; the power is conceptual thought; the activity is conventional truth. In short, mind arises from the alaya, and its nature and wisdom expand together, being in the state of unmanifested virtuous and non-virtuous karma. All three, great, medium, and small (karmas), are related to afflictions and can only become the nourishment of samsara. The virtuous deeds of the mind are only hoping for results by accumulating causes, wanting to achieve Buddhahood from this is like wanting to make a ladder from a rabbit's horn; or like a motherless child wanting to become the head of the household, it will definitely go in that direction. All that is controlled by the alaya and not mastered by wisdom is mind. Among them, there are two types of mind: the deluded mind and the mind that seeks the path. The former refers to the mind of all sentient beings, which has the wheel of delusion. The latter refers to all (actions) that want to enter the correct path and use the mind to practice the path. Because its cause is the foundation of samsara, the result is also definitely in the direction of samsara, so it is conventional truth. Wisdom refers to the state of being controlled by great wisdom. At that time, the basis is the Dharmakaya; the sound is wisdom; the power is the activity of wisdom, which does not go beyond (these three). Because the foundation of the spontaneously accomplished three bodies is established, all views, practices, and meditations will become the fruit of omniscience, which is true and not false. Wisdom also has two types: the wisdom of the cause and the wisdom of the result. The nature is the state of being pervasive, vast, without center or edge, in a natural state, without modification, controlled by vast wisdom, and the doors of sound and power are not closed, not influenced by external objects, and not mixed with external objects. Even if a beginner can recognize it, it is easy to forget, being in a state of disorientation and alternating gain and loss.

When the subtle clinging of wisdom and consciousness is in a subconscious state, there are two states of delusion. This is because it is only entering the path, and has not yet gained stability and grasp, so it is only the stage of awareness of the path. In this regard, through the power of extreme habituation, there is no state of delusion in the daytime appearance, and it is completely integrated into the emptiness of its own nature. It is not like this in the dream appearance, sometimes it is dominated by its own nature, and sometimes it is scattered and lost. That time is only the stage of obtaining the path, so it is the awareness of obtaining the path. In this regard, again through the power of extreme habituation, all the appearances of dreams and daytime do not turn to anything other than the power of one's own awareness, which is called the awareness of being integrated into the void. At any time and in any state, awareness is great light, and does not distinguish between time and occasion.
