Listen without distraction, all you retinues of illusory play! Instead of seeking cause and effect elsewhere, recognize the Khenpo who wanders in the three realms of samsara, and grasp the key to liberation from it! When this was said, the master of the all-creating mind said: I am the Khenpo! The two doors that rely on me are changing! Thus he reported. The teacher himself said: Hey, master of mind, tell me your form, shape, and color! Thus he spoke. The master of mind said: I am the formless emptiness! It is certain that I am beyond shape and color! Thus he reported. The Blessed One said: Hey, master of mind, what is the source of your first arising, the place where you abide in the middle, and the place where you finally go? The master of mind said: I am the emptiness of non-arising, there is no source of arising! I am the emptiness of non-abiding, there is no place of abiding! I am the emptiness of non-accomplishment, there is no place to go! All who are gathered here are not different from me, please, teacher, show me the profound key to liberation! After he reported this, the Blessed One said: Hey, listen, all you retinues of illusory play! Now it is crucial that you understand your own reason! There are two kinds of paths: those with superior faculties traverse directly by breaking through on their own, and those with middling and inferior faculties proceed gradually by relying on the stages of the path. To examine this, first mix your own mind with the emptiness of the outer sky and remain equally for two fortnights. The former ones, with the eye of wisdom, see the nature of the original purity and thus nature merges with itself. For those of the latter two types, there is only futile hope, suffering from the pain of discomfort, and the mind and the sky do not mix, appearing as needing to be transformed and worked on, and time passes in much thought. The way to put them on the stages of the path is like this: recognize that abiding in awareness and wandering in thoughts, and practice in the following way: just as people watch the magic show of a magician, diligently practice with strong effort, so that all subtle and gross thoughts Ah Om! (藏文,梵文天城体:,梵文罗马拟音:,汉语字面意思:) all subside into the original fundamental ocean and abide in an unmoving state, which is called peaceful abiding.

Experiences arise. At this time, bliss is like the warmth of fire, clarity is like the dawning of day, and non-conceptuality is like an ocean undisturbed by waves. Abiding in this, the awareness that does not differentiate between movement and stillness is clearly seen, which is called vipashyana (insight). Having recognized stillness in experience, without attachment to it, guarding it with awareness, the appearances of experience naturally vanish, and awareness becomes focused. Listen to the wheel of illusory play! At this time, sometimes there is a feeling of comfort and ease, and sometimes illnesses caused by wind arise, and all arising thoughts are felt as uncomfortable stabs as if hitting the heart, and uncertain illnesses that cannot be diagnosed occur. Hoping for gods and doubting ghosts, and all sentient beings that are seen appear as harmful, and so on, various rough experiences arise uncertainly. Sometimes one abides blankly in emptiness, and sometimes various appearances of gods, ghosts, and clairvoyance arise; sometimes they are true, and sometimes they are false, and cannot be trusted. If one clings to this as supreme and deliberately meditates on it or becomes attached to it, it will become a great rock in the depths of samsara, and one will fall into the mud of the lower realms, so know this! Knowing experiences as experiences, abiding without hope or fear, and guarding with awareness, the experiences naturally vanish, and coarse thoughts naturally subside, and awareness abides in a vast and open state, and all thoughts naturally increase without being fabricated, which is called self-liberated awareness. At this time, there are still more experiences of bliss, and the place of straying is also there. All diseases caused by bile will be provoked, and liberation comes from recognizing this. Without hope, fear, or attachment to experiences, abiding in a natural state, and guarding with awareness, after the experiences naturally vanish, even the awareness itself is absent, and due to subtle clinging, one abides in an empty, thoughtless state, which is called the alaya (storehouse consciousness) indeterminate, that is, sleeping in a state of awareness and emptiness. At this time, disturbing emotions of ignorance are aroused, and diseases caused by phlegm also arise. Recognizing these experiences, without hope or fear, Om Without clinging to reality, abiding in a natural state, experiences naturally vanish, clarity appears in emptiness, and the passage of thoughts is blocked.
