If it is close and not beneficial, why? Om: Is it necessary to practice meditation? Please, Teacher, explain! After asking this, the Bhagavan said: Hey! Vajra of Mind, for those with coarse minds, wild thoughts, and who are unmanageable, first bring them into the gate of this path, and by breaking the arrogance of thoughts, make the mind more stable, so that they may attain unwavering stability. Otherwise, even if knowledge is introduced, they will not practice it, and will fall into the faults of laziness and distraction. Even if they try to practice, they will fall into boundless confusion due to the power of forgetfulness. Therefore, just as an untamed horse and a wild wind horse are bound and tamed with the peg of practice and attachment, and to settle the mind of dull faculties and bind it with the rope of mindfulness and awareness, through the power of practice and familiarity, all subtle and gross thoughts will cease, and the appearance of the unmade, non-meditative nature of awareness will arise, and when awareness reaches the state of great non-meditation, the lama will introduce it so that it does not stray into the wrong path. Initially, seeking the path with great difficulty means using the movement of thoughts as the path; ultimately, when awareness arrives at its own ground, it is introduced as the path. Before the wisdom of the path or the unmade manifestation of awareness arrives at its own ground, one must gradually traverse a similar experience to the rough experiences previously described. Thus he spoke. Furthermore, Bodhisattva Great Emptiness Boundless said: Hey! Bhagavan, are thoughts to be purified or not? If they are to be purified, then after the mind is purified, does awareness need to arise again? Please, Bhagavan, explain! After asking this, the Teacher said: Hey! Vajra of Mind, the bonds of memory and attachment are gradually broken by the power of practice, and eventually, like a fetus in a lotus, the mind naturally relaxes, and thoughts go into a state of latency. Movement and thoughts dissolve into the dharmadhatu, and everything becomes empty, and the three, self, other, and place, do not appear. When one is in this state, a clear emptiness, with experience and attachment, an inner view, and the appearance of the three, self, other, and place, are not obvious, this is the alaya consciousness. Om Te!

Regarding the basis of the initial arising Alaya consciousness, some teachers explain it as one taste and free from elaboration, while others explain it as indeterminate. However, no matter how it is said, it actually tends towards the level of self-nature. Again, if a person with diligence determines that this is not the correct path, and through meditation, then all emptiness and luminosity with experiential attachment, like waking up from sleep, purify in the Dharmadhatu, the external appearances do not cease, and the ropes of internal memory and attachment are severed. Not bound by the bonds of good meditation, nor falling into selfishness due to bad ignorance, the primordial awareness that transcends the names of view, meditation, and action is clear and bright, the knower and the known, this and that, self and object will not be established, in the state of experiencing the primordial self-arising mind, free from attachment, without thoughts or goals, in a relaxed and free state, when tending towards this, the power will not cease, all appearances will manifest, the conceptual thoughts mix with the object, disappearing into the inseparability with the object, intermittently, without any attachment, therefore this is not the conceptual thought of sentient beings, but the consciousness is completely transformed, the power is completely transformed into wisdom, and stability is obtained in it, like muddy water becoming clear, Know this! Thus it was said. Then, the Bodhisattva Light Universally Shining Lord rose from his seat and said to the Bhagavan: O venerable teacher, Bhagavan! All-pervading, immovable king, please listen and consider! Here, by meditating solely on the clear awareness, free from thought and speech, can one attain the ground of primordial self-arising liberation? If it can be attained, how is it attained? If it cannot be attained, then what is the purpose of meditating on this? What kind of merits will arise? For the sake of taming sentient beings, please teach! Thus he requested. The teacher said: O Light Universally Shining Lord, listen carefully and keep it in mind! I will explain it to you truthfully. Even if one practices this profound path, abiding in the wisdom free from elaboration, if one does not realize the wisdom of the Dharmakaya base, then immediately after death, there will be a force to be thrown into the form realm and the four formless realms. (藏文:ཨོཾཿ,梵文:,罗马拟音:Om,汉语字面意思:唵)It is impossible to attain the Buddhas of omniscience by this action alone! After initially recognizing this path, meditate more diligently.
