May the male and female local deities be bound by oath! To the yogi who dwells innocently in his own place, without freedom, he is repeatedly destroyed by obstacles. Now he has been made to have no power to dwell. We innocent and upright wise ones, from countless eons ago, have been deceived by deceivers into the abyss of samsara, far from the path to higher liberation, and burdened with heavy burdens of suffering that were not there. Now, even in this moment of leisure and attainment, as soon as one seeks the Dharma and abandons sin, the male and female enemy demons who commit evil rise up as enemies. The black-sided demons come to deceive and disturb, creating obstacles to the practice of the Dharma. Wise ones, please consider with wisdom! Those who possess unwavering compassion, please consider! Please know, please consider, this is the vajra word. The time of the oath has come, Samaya! Then, having arranged the red torma and blood drink, to the witnesses, the slayer witnesses, with fierce wrath, he speaks thus: O! May the lineage of the three lamas be witnesses and testifiers! May the yidam deities be witnesses and testifiers! May the assembly of mothers and dakinis be witnesses and testifiers! May the male and female Dharma protectors be witnesses and testifiers! I, the yogi, am innocent and without fault, but even though I act according to the Dharma, sin follows me like a shadow. Even though I act properly, Improper slander arises. Even though I meditate, the deceiving demons steal it away. Even though I dwell alone, enemy demons suddenly arise. These vicious, oath-breaking, enemy demons of bad karma, no matter how I flee, I cannot escape, they always arrive. No matter how I hide, I cannot escape, they are always caught. Even if I offer ransom, it is of no use, they only become more fierce. Fleeing, chasing, hiding, catching, there is no way to escape, involuntarily.
