are also included in the count. Giving refers to material giving, while Dharma giving refers to sweet speech, which is the wisdom that understands the conventional and ultimate, and benefits sentient beings. Not being distracted by inferior vehicles, one proceeds. The giving of fearlessness is also referred to as beneficial action or that which is in accordance with benefit. Furthermore, in the six perfections, the perfection of giving is giving, the perfection of ethics and patience is sweet speech, diligence is beneficial action, and meditation and wisdom are in accordance with benefit. The distinction of teaching the Dharma to others with sweet speech, if the meaning of these Dharmas is summarized, it is as follows: First, it is abandoning the faults of samsara and attachment to self. Second, third, fourth, and fifth are praising giving and the faults of miserliness. Sixth is striving for merit. Seventh is abiding in the Mahayana path, being content with little, abandoning bad friends, and examining and separating from conditions that are incompatible with the holy ones. Eighth is generating the Mahayana bodhicitta, abandoning the five sins, and proclaiming the virtues of giving. Ninth is striving to practice giving. Tenth is abandoning sins. Eleventh is preventing harm. Twelfth is abiding in knowing shame and being ashamed. Thirteenth is also the same. Fourteenth, fifteenth, and sixteenth are proclaiming the blessings of truth. Seventeenth is the fault of drinking alcohol. Eighteenth is the harm of family and the fault of desire. Nineteenth is the fault of desire. Twentieth is fulfilling the wishes of others who possess qualities. Twenty-first is the fault of anger. Twenty-second is striving to cultivate qualities. Twenty-third is refuting wrong views, abandoning sinful friends, striving for merit, and governing the kingdom with Dharma. Twenty-fourth is abandoning sins. Twenty-fifth is abandoning harm to wild animals, abandoning harm to others, and one should strive for merit. Twenty-sixth is abandoning sins, generating compassion, and governing the kingdom with Dharma. Twenty-seventh is being grateful for kindness and governing the

It is governance. Twenty-eighth, one should strive for merit, practice diligence, and abide in patience. Twenty-ninth, it is the means of generating right view, the faults of wrong view, the harm of hell, and the path to heaven and liberation. Thirtieth, to comfort others with compassion and make great aspirations. Thirty-first, it is the praise of listening, the four distinctions of good speech, and leading others to the good path. Thirty-second, it is contemplating the faults of samsara and death. Thirty-third and thirty-fourth, are the benefits of patience. Thus, by guiding with generosity, instructing with pleasing words, urging them to practice the meaning of the teachings with practical actions, and stabilizing the benefit of others with common interests, therefore, the methods of accomplishing the benefit of others are only the four means of gathering. These four means of gathering can each make oneself perfect in the Buddha's Dharma, and are the distinctions of being skilled in the means of maturing sentient beings. Even merely by letting others rejoice, their roots of virtue will increase. Therefore, due to the extraordinary conduct, one can turn away from the lower vehicle, stabilize practice, and especially focus on the benefit of others, etc., seeing many necessities. Because the scriptures that explain these are stated, this has great significance, like a precious jewel. Therefore, one should remember the meaning of these words and rejoice. I also want to abide in such great conduct, thinking about how to perfect the accumulations. Proclaim the great conduct to others and let them generate faith. For those who are more prone to conceptual thoughts, who like to tell wonderful stories in detail, one should also abandon mundane talk and tell such words. Even if they have not yet gained faith, hearing can plant the seeds of liberation. For those who are tormented by sorrow, who are discouraged and disheartened, one should dispel sorrow and generate joy. Even in times of discouragement such as the faults of samsara, if I do those things, or do like that, why should I be discouraged? Thinking like this, one can gain joy.
