After the child is born, women may suffer from a disease called "Alaka," the symptoms of which are heart pain, headache, and a stabbing pain in the head like being pricked with needles. For this condition, burnt barley straw ash can be mixed with ghee or warm boiled water, or the juice boiled from pippali and other medicines can be mixed with turmeric, or the juice boiled from usu fruit can be mixed with children's ghee, three spices (i.e., long pepper, black pepper, ginger) and three aromatics (i.e., cinnamon, cardamom, ghandapatra) powder and fed. Alternatively, for diseases caused by childbirth, put a red-hot iron into the juice boiled from five roots, do this repeatedly, or put a red-hot iron into alcohol as before and then feed it, so that it can be relieved.
