Therefore, any doctor who strives to examine carefully and distinguish details, and then determines the work, his reputation will be as beautiful as an old garland among a gathering of many virtues. The sixth chapter on omens of death is complete. Now, the chapter on treating diarrhea will be explained. Diarrhea is caused by unsuitable food, being too heavy, too oily, too rough, eating and drinking too spicy things, eating too much, eating too little, etc., which causes the digestive fire to disappear and the underlying cause to increase. The symptoms of diarrhea caused by wind are: the color of the stool is reddish, foamy and rough, the amount is small, it occurs repeatedly, mucus is discharged, there is abdominal cramping, and it occurs with sound. The symptoms of diarrhea caused by bile are: the color of the stool is yellow, red, black, blue, or greenish, very smelly, thin, the anus is burning, rashes appear, and there is great thirst. The symptoms of diarrhea caused by phlegm are: the color of the stool is white, fishy, and astringent.
