Simply because there is craving for "I," those are the basis for clinging to "I." For those who see something as supreme and pure, they will strive for it, and this will also turn into arrogance, which refers to anything related to the characteristics of the five aggregates of grasping. Seeing something as supreme means holding supreme views. Seeing something as pure means holding the supreme of discipline and asceticism. "For those" refers to the basis of supreme and pure views. Striving for the basis of supreme and pure views is existence, because they desire that basis itself to become the cause of supreme and pure. "And this will also turn into arrogance" means that those who hold supreme and pure views will become complacent. Therefore, craving and arrogance, even if not desired, will become universally present. Now, if both existence and arrogance are universally present, then the stated abandonment is impossible, and if that is the case, it will be explained in detail: Whatever desire, etc., is the object to be abandoned by seeing, those are to be abandoned by seeing. The rest are to be abandoned by cultivation, because both of these are objects to be abandoned by seeing and cultivation. From the perspective of this characteristic, it will not become merely abandoned by seeing, nor is it merely abandoned by cultivation. Therefore, if it must be stated by what both are to be abandoned, then, therefore, it is said that it is abandoned by cultivation. The reason there is because of focusing on mixing, that is, whatever is the object to be abandoned by seeing, there, merely focusing on what is to be abandoned by seeing, it shows that it is to be abandoned by seeing itself. The rest are things to be abandoned by cultivation, that is, those that are to be abandoned only by cultivation, and those that focus on both. Therefore, because of focusing on mixing, here the two are not contradictory to be abandoned by cultivation. Or, because it is the very nature of being included by the power of view being generated. Generating the power of view is ability. Both have the state of being included by it, and are its things.

The two enter by the power of increasing views, and that is why. Similarly, those enter by the power of purity and excellence, but those that do not depend on those are not. Therefore, just as seeing in a pure and excellent way, that itself is also only to be abandoned by seeing it. The Vaibhashikas say: This affliction itself is self-nature, which is explained in detail. Whoever has the view of self has attachment to self, because it is the affliction of self-nature. Therefore, it enters by the power of increasing views, and these also want to enter by completely cutting off the object itself. Similarly, even with one limb such as the eye, it transforms, is arrogant, and has the freedom to fully enter, so suffering etc. is obtained, therefore it is to be abandoned by seeing. This is the meaning of "This is ours." If it is only obtaining suffering etc. by the freedom of fully entering, then the merit of fully entering by the view of the aggregation of destruction will also become obtaining suffering. Would attachment etc., which is fully entered by pervasive action and is very close to the realm, also become something to be abandoned by seeing? If asked in this way, this should be said. For what reason is ignorance, which is to be abandoned by meditation, not to be abandoned by seeing as the affliction of its own nature? This is not focused on the Dharma to be abandoned by seeing, because the object is small. This should be said: If the view of the aggregation of destruction is focused on the five Dharmas, but it is not abandoned by the realization of suffering etc., then attachment, anger, and pride, which are focused on the five Dharmas, will also not be abandoned by seeing suffering. The view of the aggregation of destruction is abandoned, and like attachment etc., will it become impossible to be five aspects? The view of the aggregation of destruction holds the five feelings as self even for a moment, and so it is even up to consciousness. It is not reasonable to say that there are five aspects in one moment, because attachment etc. do not have two objects in one moment. Therefore, it is not the same to say that these are afflictions by their own nature.
