It summarizes the unpleasant sounds of the north, etc. Since the direction is mentioned, it is said that even if one becomes independent or a Chakravartin, it is possible, and such things are common. The aspect of pride is said to increase because it is said that it is to be exhausted by seeing and meditating. For the noble ones, the pride of thinking "I am," and the aspect of pride to be abandoned by meditation, even if they are not abandoned, will not occur universally. Even if those are not abandoned, it means that killing and other pervasive afflictions are the ultimate self of pride. It is said that it increases due to the view of the perishable aggregate because it enters through the door of the view of the perishable aggregate. It is said that wrong views increase, and entering wrongly into the relationship of cause and effect will lead to the creation of sins. To increase is synonymous with multiplying and helping. It is said that it is not non-virtuous regret, and doing bad deeds is the nature of physical and verbal actions, so it is to be abandoned by meditation. Desire is also focused on this, and the mind is mindful, so it is also to be abandoned by meditation. For the noble ones, that will not happen either, because it is caused by doubt, and that has already been abandoned by the path of seeing. It is said that breaking the waist is because the support is destroyed, and the support of those is the view of the perishable aggregate, etc., because it is nourishing. That is broken because the noble ones have abandoned the view of the perishable aggregate, etc. It will be said that because for him, there is no affliction to nourish, so he cannot be born again. Others say that because they understand the relationship between karma and result by meditating on emptiness, the noble ones will not universally practice those even if they have not abandoned them, and the pervasive afflictions such as killing are to be abandoned by meditation. The teacher Samghabhadra says that one should not start in that way by desiring existence. Why is it explained by establishing it through other doors? Because the behavior is impossible. Named as reality, etc., whatever situation exists in which it arises in the continuum of non-noble ones, that is shown in order to prevent it, and it has meaning. The noble ones

If someone asks: "If the afflictions to be abandoned by seeing are those without pervasive activity, then can those to be abandoned by cultivation be known through this contemplation?" The answer is: "It is not so. Because it is necessary to initiate separately in order to fully know what is to be abandoned by cultivation, just as killing and other pervasive attachments are abandoned by cultivation, destruction is also considered in the same way. Otherwise, if, like forms of pride and so on, they are purified by seeing and cultivation alone, then what was previously stated about killing and other pervasive attachments being abandoned by cultivation would be impossible for the noble ones. The 'killing and so on' mentioned here refers to the prohibition of pervasive activity, which has already been explained. In 'killing and other pervasive attachments,' the word 'and' is taken closely. By mentioning 'and,' it includes up to the craving for existence. This is to show that, like forms of pride and so on, it does not pervasively act. 'Suffering, cause, seeing, to be abandoned,' this is explained extensively, because it is close to the nature of the cause of the five objects, it is called pervasive activity. Others say: 'Because the five objects universally arise in all sentient beings, it is called pervasive activity.' Still others say: 'Because it focuses on its own realm and all boundaries, it is called pervasive activity.' The seven views are: the five to be abandoned by seeing the truth of suffering, and the two to be abandoned by seeing the truth of origin, namely, wrong view and holding views as supreme. The two doubts refer to those to be abandoned by seeing the truth of suffering and those to be abandoned by seeing the truth of origin. The two ignorances refer to those to be abandoned by seeing the truth of suffering and the truth of origin, which are the same as other afflictions, having commonalities. The non-mingled ones to be abandoned by seeing the truth of suffering are counted as one. Those to be abandoned by seeing the truth of origin are also counted in the same way. Thus, there are seven pervasive activities to be abandoned by seeing the truth of suffering. There are four to be abandoned by seeing the truth of origin, so there are eleven in total. If classified by realms, there are thirty-three, because each of the three realms has eleven. 'The non-mingled ones are only,' refers to those that are mixed with accompaniment.
