Oh. The two are also because they abide in the realm of the mind and are not separated, so they are not counted as subtle increases by their differences. Former teachers said: When distinguishing and establishing the nature of the Dharma of the Tathagata, some people summarize the afflictions of the four meditations as one, saying the desire for the form realm and the formless realm, therefore, on the basis, they say the desire for the formless realm. Some people say: Also, how can it be summarized by all the worlds? Others say: Only the Bhagavan knows this. It can be said about this: Because the very small afflictions of the fourth meditation are abandoned, once complete knowledge is established, the difference cannot be known, because they are of the same kind. If it is not like this, then when abandoning the first meditation, complete knowledge is also established, then that distinction and establishment is not abandoning the distinction. It is definitely not abandoning other afflictions of the same kind. Whatever does not have the same possession as its own ground, it should also be regarded as having the same possession. From being separated from the desire of the fourth meditation, all kinds of afflictions that act in the form realm, from being separated from that desire, complete knowledge is established. Others say that there is no difference in afflictions in the realms and spheres. If this is the case, then sentient beings born in the fourth meditation, those with afflictions, are also said to have conceptualization and discernment, joy and happiness. Because conceptualization and discernment are close to pacification, there is no joy, and happiness is also abandoned. The proximity of the upper ground is not the antidote to abandoning the afflictions of the lower ground, because the bondage is the same. Anyone who, in order to obtain the first meditation, from the non-returner to obtaining the fourth meditation, the abandonment is the same, therefore this must be admitted. Just like the realms, the grounds are completely cut off by afflictions and karma, cause and effect, therefore, because they are not established by a common combination, the form and formless realms are distinguished and established by ninety-eight subtle increases. If it is said that there is no anger in the form realm, then therefore

If it is said that there is anger, then its subtle objects do not exist. If anger grows from painful feelings, then it is impossible that there is no anger above. In this regard, anger is like hatred and a rough wind disease. The continuums of these beings are moistened by quiescence, so there is no unpleasant ripening; and because in these realms they are separated from unpleasant ripening, there is also no object of universal suffering. In this regard, there is no external iron and transforming things and thorns, etc., and there is no internal wind and speech, etc., because they are perfumed by the roots of virtue such as love, and because there is no complete grasping. The forbearance born from the peak of existence, what is to be abandoned is called. Saying the peak of existence is to distinguish it from what is born from other grounds. The forbearance of acceptance is to eliminate what is to be abandoned by cultivation. In order to avoid falling into the forbearance of dharma, it is said that what is to be abandoned by the forbearance of subsequent knowledge. Because there is no worldly path that is the antidote to the peak of existence, it is only what is to be abandoned by seeing, not what is to be abandoned by cultivation. In the remaining grounds, as appropriate, refers to the desire realm, etc., up to the realm of nothingness. As appropriate means how it exists, in the desire realm it is what is to be abandoned by the forbearance of dharma knowledge, and from the first dhyana upwards it is what is to be abandoned by the forbearance of subsequent knowledge. Ordinary beings are what is to be abandoned by cultivation, because the path of cultivation of the higher ground is the antidote to the lower ground. The sutra says that the Hearers of the Blessed One abandon by seeing, and ordinary beings abandon by cultivation. In all grounds, saying all is to include the peak of existence. The appropriate of the two refers to the noble ones and ordinary beings, ordinary beings refers to those other than the peak of existence. Others say, the remaining birth is both seeing and cultivation.
