The reason for saying "because it contradicts that" is that seeing the truth will not be touched by the faults collected by the path of karma. Furthermore, if one asks, by what means is that also irreversible? If it is said in this way, is the action of the five heinous crimes also reversible? Some say: It can be reversed, just like Angulimala. The example of Dapa also does not contradict the scriptures. If someone possesses the five heinous crimes and dies with the five heinous crimes, then he will be born in hell. If someone cultivates actions, then in the context of the scriptures, how does the action of the five heinous crimes become the five heinous crimes? It can also be said to be irreversible. The scriptures say that harming sentient beings is also not contradictory to killing, therefore the result of that karma is certain, so one will be born in hell. Just like that person possesses the action of the five heinous crimes, because he died with the five heinous crimes. Angulimala only generated the thought of not killing, and there was no action. After the passing of the Blessed One, he performed many actions, but he only approached and thought of stabbing with a sword. The Blessed One, in order to completely eliminate his karmic obscurations, did not approach him until his mind had not changed. Dapa also did not completely abandon the Blessed One, but thought that if he were omniscient, he would know it himself. Master Samantabhadra said: There are two types of actions of the five heinous crimes, namely near and far. Among them, the near one is also reversible. This itself is in accordance with the scriptures, so there is no contradiction. Even if only the five heinous crimes are reversed, then what is his action? The Sutra masters say: The previously mentioned karma of the five heinous crimes, through accumulation, will be born in hell with the five heinous crimes, which should be understood in one sentence. If it is not like this, then one sentence will become meaningless. Here, because it is said, "As I understand, the meaning of what the Blessed One said," it is said to be understood by grasping it firmly. Because all karma is reversed, it is prophesied that all those who build stupas will be born in the heavens.

Because Devadatta, who had severed roots of virtue, was also prophesied without doubt in the past. Just like the obscuration of afflictions, the obscuration of karma can also be averted, and this is not contradictory. In a case where even the mind at the peak of existence, which is extremely subtle and supremely refined, can be averted, then for the five inexpiable sins, there is no opportunity to definitively avert them. The phrase "knowing what is Dharma and what is not Dharma" means that if one knows the Dharma of the Thus-Gone One, thinking, "This is well-spoken, but not the teachings of the Tirthikas," then one knows what is Dharma and what is not Dharma. The phrase "for the sake of false teaching" means that for the sake of showing what is well-spoken as poorly spoken, or showing what is poorly spoken as well-spoken, that is false teaching. Showing it in a way different from this would be lying, but it is not schism in the Sangha. In this way, schism in the Sangha does not lead individual ordinary beings into certainty. Those who have entered certainty do not attain other fruits. Those who have attained fruits do not attain freedom from attachment. Those who are free from attachment are obstructed from the exhaustion of defilements; in short, they become an obstacle to the wheel of Dharma in the three realms. The phrase "proceeding in order" is explained in detail: the fifth is drawing blood from the body of the Thus-Gone One with malicious intent, which is heavier than the fourth and the other remaining sins. The third is killing an Arhat, which is heavier than the remaining three. The first is killing one's mother, which is heavier than killing one's father. The phrase "having made the five inexpiable sins sacred" is synonymous with "having definitely grasped." The phrase "greatly ripened" means that the ripening of karma other than lying for the sake of schism in the Sangha is not an intermediate result, nor is it only in hell, therefore, only the ripening of lying for the sake of schism in the Sangha is great, and not that of others. The phrase "many people die" means that merely because the minds of the sages were disturbed, the Dandaka forest and others were destroyed, but the actions of body or speech would not cause so many beings to die. Severing all roots of virtue
