Some say that what comes from hearing from others is hearing. What is thought of by oneself is understanding, which is derived from scripture and reasoning. Therefore, this term should be combined with the six objects. The correct cognition and understanding of each by oneself is "consciousness." The correct cognition of each refers to the cognition of happiness, etc.; and understanding refers to the direct perception of worldly paths, etc. Here, understanding through the supramundane path is not included, because this is the scope of worldly terminology. Some say that only the sixth consciousness can understand and see, but not for sounds, etc. Similarly, cognition also means that through the wisdom of seeing the past, one can also see the future. The past and the future are both objects of the mind consciousness. In the Buddha's scriptures, there is nowhere that says that the ear can see sounds, or the nose, etc., can see smells, etc. Since the word "seeing" enables one to simultaneously understand the object, what is the use of cognition here? If it is said that it is seen directly through the senses, and not directly through the mind, then this is the view of the Yogacara. Form is divided into four types, and the remaining five objects are also the same. Because there is no seeing, it is impossible to name smells, etc. Some say that through seeing, etc., one can recognize oneself, which has a special meaning. There is no difference between understanding and consciousness. Direct understanding through the mind is the nature of the mind's sense, recognizing oneself, because it is the object of the mind, so it is called conceptual cognition. If the body can understand other things, then this is what false statements say, so this question is raised. As for "if done through speech," here only non-revealing form is the true path of action, and revealing form is not. As for "if done through the body," others say that here also only non-revealing form is the true path of action.

When it says, "The sages, etc., are extremely angry in their minds," even if they do not act with body and speech, they will still have faults. When it says, "Take the Uposatha as an example," in the case of the Uposatha, even if one does not speak falsely to conceal faults, one will still be touched by the fault of lying. When it says, "If one does not act," it will be explained up to "not striving and not combining." In that case, if the path of action depends only on the mind, like meditation and undefiled discipline, then the non-manifest form that acts in the desire realm, which is the non-manifest form, would not exist. The term "acting in the desire realm" distinguishes it from the non-manifest form of meditation and undefiled discipline. "They" refers to the sages and monks. The scholar Dütsang says that the sages are actually performing manifest actions, because non-humans realize that their non-virtuous thoughts have begun to completely abandon sentient beings, and what is it that causes the physical actions of the path of action to arise in those sages for those who have faith in them? Furthermore, for those who are angry, there is no doubt that there will be movement of body and speech at that time, and they will utter curses, so there is no contradiction. For the Uposatha, just as one understands the meaning through words, the movement of the body is also real, and the path of action arises. Similarly, we who are endowed with life think that we are completely pure, but say nothing. For those who do not move, it is also the same. For understanding the meaning through words, even if one says nothing, the real path of action will arise, that is, without being completely pure, one says nothing, but makes oneself understood as pure. Others say that not all non-manifest forms of the desire realm necessarily depend on manifest forms, because the Pratimoksha vows can arise at the moment the five aggregates and others attain the result. Therefore, some non-virtuous actions may also occur without manifest forms. They say this, and it should be refuted and answered. In order to distinguish tale-bearing from others, it says "with afflictions." The essence of tale-bearing is tale-bearing. Those what
