If the arising difference is the thought of length, etc., then how will this fault of the Sutra school not occur? When the body's root consciousness does not grasp darkness as long, the consciousness of length, etc., comes from that, because the root consciousness and the place of arising are the objects of their respective nature. Sometimes, the Vaibhashika masters say that the body's root consciousness does not grasp the shape of length, etc., so what is it? The limbs of the tangible are so abiding, those objects of the body's root consciousness, later knowing that they are long, etc., therefore, it will not become the fault that the eyes and touch themselves grasp length, etc. Therefore, it is also said in detail, "How is it the tangible?" If the tangible itself is now abiding, when grasping from one limb to another, later it will be known as long, etc., but it is not like that to grasp other things other than the tangible as long, etc. Similarly, colors only abide in that way, when grasping from one limb to another, later it will be known as long, etc., but it is not like that to grasp other things other than colors as long, etc., one should have deep faith in this. Dharmottara wants to say that shape is different from color and tangible, so he says again, for that, the phrase "acting together with the tangible" appears in detail. The word "recollection" here refers to subsequent inference, just like the color of the eye, touch is not directly grasped, because the place of arising is not the same, that's what I thought. For example, the phrase "the shape of fire" appears in detail, just like grasping what is grasped by other root consciousnesses without confusion, and then inferring what is grasped by other root consciousnesses, it is also shown here. Among them, the tangible is slight, that is, soft, etc. Shape, no matter where it is, refers to determining length, etc., without confusion. Although those were said, determining shape from the tangible, there is also certainty for the accumulation of the tangible. When the tangible mostly appears on the door on one side, it will be determined to be a long shape, when it appears around, it is called round, and similarly, it can also be applied to other situations. Therefore.

Remembering color without shape is because it is determined by the aggregation of the touch of color. There is no aggregation other than touch, for even if touch is uncertain, it depends on the remaining shape and then enters. If it is said that it does not transform into a shape different from the tangible there, then just as there is aggregation there, one aspect of it is not separate from it. Because one aspect of it is apprehended. That would also become an object of inference. Because in all cases there is no state or difference of shape. Because all the touches that exist in that way are mentioned in order, the shape is understood without interval, it is not a shape that has become something other than touch, just like the rows of ants formed by ants and so on. What is called "spreading out a picture" is explained extensively. If one sees that many shapes such as long, short, flat, and square exist in one shape of a picture spread out, then that is not suitable for a shape that exists as a substance. Just as blue, yellow, and other colors do not contradict each other in the same object because their dependent arising is different. Therefore, that color that exists in that way is called shape. Whatever has obstruction is explained extensively, whatever form with obstruction that exists slightly is all, if desired, aggregates of atoms and so on that are without sense organs and soundless atoms. Saying 'with obstruction' is to cut off form without obstruction. That is not on dust. Shape is not on atoms. Furthermore, how is it understood that 'there is no shape on atoms'? Just as there are blue and other colors in the aggregation of long and so on, existing from each limb, it is because long and so on are apprehended as shapes. On each limb of an atom, there is no shape, so it should not be apprehended like color. If it decreases, then the thought of blue and so on will reverse there, or conversely, it will not become the thought of yellow. Similarly, if the aggregation of long and so on decreases, then the thought of long and so on will not reverse, and conversely, it will not become the thought of short and so on. Therefore, dust.
