How is it explained that (loving-kindness, etc.) are the antidotes to malice, etc.? Therefore, it is said, "By the application of those," etc., it is said to be the antidote in order to suppress malice, etc. It is not that it becomes the antidote by abandoning the attainment of afflictions such as malice, but it is said to be the antidote in order to prolong the abandonment. In this regard, loving-kindness, etc., which are in the desire realm and correspond to the ground of non-superiority, suppress afflictions such as malice, while the afflictions of the ground of actual meditative absorption prolong the abandonment of afflictions. In order to show that very point, it is explained in detail, "Loving-kindness, etc., and the desire realm," etc. "Those similar to those without deficiency in the actual practice" means that they are similar in nature, object, aspect, and application. "By the path of abandonment" means by the paths of non-interruption, etc. "To completely abandon" means to cut off its attainment. "Possessing the power of conditions" refers to its objects of focus. "Obtaining those" means that those become manifest. "They will not decline" means that they will not arise. The great friendly side is birth, body, and equality of body, without which it is difficult to abide. The intermediate is related to friends, food, and Dharma. The small is whatever provides help and food. Similarly, there are three types of enemies: the great one steals friends, livelihood, mind, and life force. The middle one steals the necessities of life. The small one steals the necessities of life from friends and servants. There are also three types of ordinary people: those who have not been seen or heard before, those who have been seen and heard but are not familiar, and those who are familiar but do not provide help or cause harm. In this way, the beginning yogi applies himself to sentient beings, dividing them into three types. For the great friend, one should first generate the mind to help them especially with a joyful heart. Then gradually teach them. Even those who were friends but have become enemies should be helped.

Should be practiced. One should not let the mind wander outwards. Similarly, it should also be widely proclaimed to others. To expand with loving-kindness means to differentiate. From the perspective of the fruits of past merit and non-merit, for those whose roots of virtue are universally increasing, one can see the powerful fruits of past merit, etc., and thus be able to affirm their merits. Similarly, for the solitary Buddhas, one can see the weak fruits of past non-merit, etc., and thus be able to point out their faults. The same applies to compassion and joy, thinking how wonderful it would be to be free from suffering, and taking particular delight in it. From the realm of heavily afflicted emotions, one must strive to be without discrimination towards sentient beings, and one should explain in detail these three friendly aspects. Equanimity is the pinnacle of ordinary people, and the aspect of ordinary people is in accordance with equanimity, but it is not entirely the same, because it is the support for counteracting greed and hatred. For others, also with small differences, etc., as before, from the aspects of friendliness and unfriendliness, one should first practice equanimity towards the unfriendly aspects. With small differences, etc., in different states, with different aspects, one is liberated from happiness and arises with hatred. Thus, attachment is bound to detachment, and detachment quickly to hatred. Some say that from the perspective of thought, it is the support of desire and the form realm. Awagana Mata. (Sanskrit Devanagari) (Sanskrit Romanization) (Literal Chinese meaning) Because there are no enemies and friends, etc., and because it is the object of focus, it is not said to be the support of the formless realm and the desire realm. Moreover, it only arises among people whose northern accent is unpleasant, and not elsewhere, because it arises through the power of habituation. If it is said to possess one immeasurable, then whatever is joyful is neither mental ease, nor the same as joy, nor does it possess it. Then, whatever possesses one, it is certain that it does not possess all. Whatever is mental ease, then before
