Napo is so. Compassion is also similar to this, called the nature of non-anger like love. Although both are of the nature of non-anger, there is a difference in terms of each other. Love is to enter into abandoning the anger of all sentient beings, proceeding with the aspect of joy; while compassion mostly proceeds with the aspect of peace as an antidote to anger entered into by whipping and cooking, etc. Thus, this is the difference between these. Ancient scholars say: Joy is the nature of mental pleasure. Other scholars say: If so, it contradicts the sutras and treatises. The sutra praises "arising great joy," so joy is also mental pleasure. Mental pleasure arises without mental pleasure, therefore, some difference in meaning is explained. The treatise also says: How is it reasonable for joy? The feeling, perception, volition, and consciousness that are in accordance with joy, this is called joy. Feeling is not in accordance with feeling. How is this reasonable for joy? The feeling that is in accordance with joy is called joy. Other scholars say: This is a very clear characteristic of this. Not being attached to the perfections of others, then one rejoices and approves of them. That is the antidote to being tormented by perfections, it is the Dharma of the nature of non-attachment, because it acts together with joy and mental pleasure. That is focused on the three realms, like mental pleasure and regret. Abandoning non-attachment, called if abandoning is also non-attachment, then what is the difference between this and joy? This is the difference, because it is free from the cause of anger and following attachment, sentient beings Ityudāsīna syā (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思). Entering the forest is the cause of accomplishing the four wisdoms of trees, it is abandonment. How is it an antidote to harmful thoughts? If one thinks that because it is of the nature of non-attachment, it should not be an antidote to harmful thoughts, then it is said "is," because harmful thoughts are led by attachment. The antidote to harmful thoughts born from the gate of attachment is abandonment, so there is no contradiction. Love and abandonment, etc., harmful thoughts

Antidote Although it is itself a boundary, the difference lies in this. Loving-kindness is the nature of non-anger, therefore it is the antidote to all harmful thoughts; equanimity is the nature of non-attachment, therefore it is the antidote to what is produced by affection. If that is the case, then since loving-kindness is the nature of non-anger, would it also become the antidote to what is born from anger and what is born from desire? It is not so, because of the contradictory aspect. Equanimity also contradicts desire and anger, because if one is particularly equanimous towards the affectionate and the unaffectionate, it is impossible to arise attachment and anger accordingly. Precisely because of this, it can serve as the nature of non-attachment, because it is the antidote to the harmful thoughts caused by attachment. The aspect of loving-kindness is not contradictory to desire, because it is the same in that it enters into the aspect of being without two-pronged anger. Therefore, loving-kindness cannot serve as an antidote to desire. Others say that loving-kindness is the antidote to extreme anger towards the object. Compassion is to the object of extreme anger. Impurity and equanimity are also antidotes to sexual desire, and what is beneficial to impurity is equanimity towards desire. It is said that if this is the nature of both, it is also possible, why? Because it is the antidote to desire and anger. Here, the nature of non-attachment and non-anger, which is in the middle state, is spoken of as the word equanimity, but it is not the case that one dharma is the nature of many dharmas. This will be taught in this way, that one does not accordingly become attached, nor does one accordingly become angry. Others say that loving-kindness is to abide from the depths of one's heart towards all beings as oneself. Compassion is to not rejoice in the suffering of others. Joy is to rejoice in the perfections of others. Equanimity is to not judge the reasons for benefit and harm. The middle one abides, which means in the manner of regarding benefit and harm with equanimity. The reason for thinking 'may it become happy' is that because one hopes to become happy, there is no perversion. Or the thought is perverted.
