Until the near-perfect uninterrupted path of the summit is the birthplace of nothingness. These three refer to those with outflows, those without outflows, and those with afflictions. Why mention those with afflictions, since they themselves are impure? Because of being free from desire, it is also not a lower ground, referring to the essence of meditation and the formless realm, those with outflows do not abandon the afflictions of the lower ground, because of being free from desire from that. It is not its antidote, therefore it is not in its own territory, referring to, it is unreasonable for it not to be its antidote, because it would lead to all beings being without afflictions, and because its afflictions would bind each other. Because it is the most superior, it is also not a higher ground, referring to, it is unreasonable for an inferior to abandon a superior, if it were not so, then the desire realm would also abandon the first dhyana. Because it is the antidote to the lower ground, referring to, because it will be free from desire from the lower ground, therefore it is the antidote to the lower ground. Entering refers to the manifestation of the essence of meditation and the formless realm. Are they also three types, referring to, those with outflows, those without outflows, and those with afflictions. Do they also have feelings similar to that, referring to, the near-perfect of the first and second dhyanas have joy, the near-perfect of the third dhyana has happiness, and the near-perfect of the fourth dhyana has equanimity. Because of striving to be upright, it possesses the power of equanimity, because it is the path of effortless arising, therefore it is associated with joy and happiness, but it is not striving to be upright. Because it also arises from the lower ground and is not separated, there is also no joy and happiness, therefore it is associated with the power of equanimity. Because it is the path of being free from desire. It is not associated with feeling. Being associated with feeling cannot be the path of being free from desire. By cutting off craving, afflictions are abandoned.

It is not possible to become with outflows. The first dhyana is also called noble, because it also has renunciation by itself, so it is without outflows, some say so. Some say that more near harm will arise from that ground, because it is close to the desire realm, and the pervasive calculation of desire realm's desire will arise, and the pervasive calculations are also related to it. Others say that from the nature of the first dhyana etc., together with its own ground, to be separated from desire is easily obtained through an easy path. After abandoning it, it is certain to be separated through a difficult path. Therefore, it can be determined that those without outflows are not seven kinds. The first is dependent on others, and it is possible to become without outflows, so there is no fault, they say. Then, in the Vibhajyavada, how does the connecting mind and mind of the near attainment change? Because the mind without afflictions has no connection, the near attainments will become possessing the same thing as tasting flavors, if you say so, it is not like that, because for them, afflictions are prevented in samadhi. There are no afflictions at birth. In order to show this, the mind of near attainment is described in detail. Some say that there are three kinds, because there is the samadhi of tasting flavors. The meaning is different, because it appears in detail, the near attainments are the cause of entering the main practice. The reason for no difference is that, for example, in the first dhyana, some have vitarka and vicara, some only have vicara, therefore it is not said like that for the second dhyana etc., so special dhyana is not mentioned there. Furthermore, because it transcends vitarka and vicara, it is the second dhyana, not transcending vicara and vitarka is close to pacification, it is a special dhyana. For the second dhyana etc., it is not appropriate to have special features, because when joy is prevented, there is nothing else to prevent. Because there is transcendence of nature, it should be said to be the third dhyana itself, and for the third dhyana it should also be said to be the fourth dhyana, because it is the nature of transcending happiness. For example, in the first dhyana, only pointing out the fault of vitarka, only transcending it
