If you want to know this, you should know that because all other schools say "of the body," it is a fabrication. Therefore, it is not contradictory to the sutra. The so-called "experiencing happiness with the body" refers to the third dhyana, and you should know that because it is spoken in its own language, it is only the happiness of the body. If it is said, "the body of mind," then why is it that here the word "body" is not considered to refer to the sense of the body? Then what is it? It is the body of mind, because the sutra says, "Having realized the happiness born of solitude through the body, and having approached and abided," so there is no contradiction. If it is said that this is not knowledge, but the sense of happiness of the mind? In other places, you should know that in some cases, the sense of happiness of the mind is also not of the mind. Because the sutra says, "Having realized through the body." Just like the collection of six senses, the word "body" is also seen for non-material things. If it is said that this is like matter, because other things are seen from the arrangement of senses, it is not right. If it is said that in non-material things, the sutra says "from different bodies," so it is also seen for non-material things, then this is not certain. Therefore, if you think that you should know "the body of mind," then say it like that, what merit is there? It should be clearly stated that "happiness is felt by the mind." In this way, in the third dhyana, there is only the happiness of the body, and not the happiness of the mind. Why is the happiness felt there not the best? Because it has been shown that in the first and second dhyanas, there is also only the happiness of the body, and not the very tamed happiness, so the fourth dhyana is mentioned in detail. Although the first and second dhyanas and the fourth dhyana have a lot of taming, happiness is not mentioned, therefore, the happiness that is clearly wanted to be felt in the first and second dhyanas is not the very tamed happiness. Otherwise, the fourth dhyana, because it does not have very taming, the happiness will become a very subtle limb. If it is said "because it is in accordance with the feeling of happiness" and so on, then because there is happiness in the first and second dhyanas, the very tamed happiness that is in accordance with this is described.

Therefore, the fourth dhyana does not have happiness, even though there is much extreme pliancy, it is not consistent with happiness, so it is not called happiness. The existence in the third, etc., refers to the extreme pliancy existing in the third dhyana being consistent with extreme happiness. Someone says that because happiness is not mentioned, it is a mistake. If it is said that it is because it is overcome by equanimity, then although the extreme pliancy of the third dhyana is consistent with happiness, it is not called happiness because it is overcome by equanimity. No, because only equanimity can make it grow. It is not like that, because only equanimity can make the extreme pliancy in the third dhyana grow. How is this known? Because the previous two dhyanas are not as superior as it, it is said that the third dhyana is more superior than the pliancy of the first and second dhyanas. Why is this? Because the faults of the lower levels are abandoned, the body and mind are more capable there. When will the noble hearer, etc., appear in detail. How are pliancy and happiness explained separately from it? When the noble hearer experiences the happiness arising from remoteness, realizes it with the body and dwells in completeness, at that time these five dharmas will be abandoned, and the five dharmas will be completely cultivated. After speaking in detail, if asked, which five dharmas will be completely cultivated? Internal extreme clarity, joy, extreme pliancy, happiness, and samadhi. These five dharmas will be completely realized, until it appears here. Therefore, in this way, after speaking of pliancy from here, happiness is also mentioned, so pliancy and happiness are different. Therefore, it should be known that in the first and second dhyanas, only pliancy is not happiness. The Vaibhashikas say that because the sutra expresses the root of happiness with the word happiness, there is no contradiction with the sutra. Here, it is not regarded as a limb of dhyana in the sutra, so pliancy is not considered the root of happiness.
