The reason why it says "What is meditation?" and does not mention mental factors is because the mind is the main thing. The reason why it says "It is the nature of samadhi" is because all meditations have the nature of focusing on one object. The reason why it says "With the followers, it is the five aggregates" is that if one seeks the nature of meditative absorptions, because its nature is virtuous and one-pointed, because all meditations are the nature of samadhi. However, if one wants to describe it together with its retinue, therefore, it is the nature of the five aggregates, because there is form that follows. How are these differences difficult to understand? Therefore, in order to show the difference from the classification of grounds, it is shown only by numbers from the first to the fourth (meditations). If it is said that a virtuous one-pointed mind is meditation, then this is uncertain, therefore, the question arises, what is "one-pointed"? The so-called "one object" means the meaning of one object. If that is the case, then shouldn't eye consciousness and mind consciousness also be one-pointed because they have one object? Some say, therefore, the difference between one basis, one object, and one-pointedness should be explained. If that is the case, then "if" etc. appears extensively. If one-pointedness itself is one object, then, only those minds that focus on one object, are not distracted, and abide equally are samadhi, not other mental phenomena, because one object is not other than the mind, because the mind itself is distracted. Merely the minds are not samadhi etc. appears extensively. Minds merely engage in one object, they do not have power from themselves, what is the dharma that makes them one-pointed, that is samadhi. The so-called "that itself is one-pointed" means having samadhi, those minds become one-pointed, therefore only samadhi is one-pointed, not the minds themselves. Because it is momentary, are not all minds one-pointed? Mind

Everything is single-pointed, because it is momentary, because it does not shift to other objects. Therefore, it is meaningless to conceive of samadhi in the mind, because all virtuous minds would become equalized. If it is said that the second (mind) does not stray from that, then, the second mind, in the same way as the previous mind, by the power of samadhi, does not stray from the object of the first mind, so there is no fault. If it is said that samadhi is meaningless for the same thing, then, for the first mind that is the same as samadhi, samadhi is meaningless, because for it, the action exists. Because it is the cause from the second, it is also meaningless to be the same as it. In the widely occurring "only from where is samadhi," if, like the mind, by the power of samadhi, both before and after are completely considered to be the same object, then there is no other samadhi. Therefore, for various samadhis, one should acknowledge being accustomed to different samadhis, or from another aspect, all samadhis are single-pointed. Only from where samadhi becomes single-pointed, also only from there the mind also becomes one object, so samadhi that has become another meaning is meaningless. Or, from where the cause cultivates samadhi, from there the second mind does not stray from the object of the previous mind, also only from there the object of the minds becomes one. Because samadhi is multi-grounded, it is said that if the later mind, by the power of the same samadhi as the previous mind, does not stray from the object of the previous mind, then samadhi is not multi-grounded. All minds would become single-pointed. It is not so, because the power of samadhi is small, it is said that all minds will not become single-pointed, why? Because the power of samadhi is small. A mind with the power of samadhi does not make the second mind unclear about the object of the first mind, but it is not so with small power, all samadhis
