The reason why it is said that supernatural powers must be attained through the form aggregate is because they must be attained through the form aggregate, because by focusing on the form aggregate, supernatural powers can be attained through the path. This is its synonym. Beings in the formless realm do not have the desire realm as their object. The so-called "gradually remembering previous other abodes" means that if one gradually remembers one's other states in the desire realm and feels disgusted, then beings in the formless realm do not have the desire realm as their object, but rather have time and so on as their object. Because in abodes and times, etc., there are situations suitable for the desire realm or the form realm, but there are no situations suitable for the formless realm. In the essence of the formless realm, there is no situation of taking the lower realm as the object or taking the form aggregate as the object. If this is the case, then the near attainment of meditation and the near attainment of the first formless realm will also become objects of the form aggregate, because they are also objects of the form aggregate? It is not so, because only the samadhi that is completely grasped by the limbs of samadhi is the basis of supernatural powers. And this does not exist in the near attainment of the formless realm, so there are no supernatural powers there, and it will not become having supernatural powers. If it is said that it is not so, because the wisdom of all grounds can take the wisdom of those who have exhausted the outflows as its object. Or, if you ask: How can the mind-reading power be attained by relying on the form aggregate? Therefore, it is explained in detail, "Wanting to understand the minds of others." Similarly, "It should also be applied to others," meaning applying to others. My body is like this, and my mind is like this. Others also have such a body, therefore, this person's mind should also be the same as mine. Through this state of combination, supernatural powers are attained through supernatural powers. In this way, after the supernatural powers of those who have exhausted the outflows are achieved, they can understand the minds of others without relying on the form aggregate. The so-called "grasping the sign" is a synonym for "completely determining the appearance of the mind." The so-called "immediately following" refers to whatever other state of cessation immediately follows any mind for which its sign is grasped, those are the first.

Oh, one remembers in the mind. Since it is impossible to remember in the mind in an uninterrupted instant, it is said "other occasion." If asked how the Pure Abodes are remembered, it is if one remembers what one has experienced. The inhabitants of the Pure Abodes do not come here, because they are non-returners. "Because of experiencing through hearing" means that one has heard that the gods of the Pure Abodes are like this. Experience is of two kinds: experiencing through hearing and experiencing through seeing. Regarding "one who has died and transmigrated from the formless realm and is born here," whoever has died and transmigrated from the formless realms and is born here, if they cultivate meditative absorption and wish to remember their former state, that is cultivated by relying on the continuum of another. The knowledge of remembering one's former state is gathered by meditative absorption, so it does not hold the mind that is active in the formless realm. That, as soon as the mind consciousness of the continuum of another has ceased, grasps the sign and immediately reverses from the norm, and so forth. Having become manifest, even the formless realms are thoroughly remembered. If the formless realms are not remembered, then how is it that in the sutras the Blessed Ones say that if they remember all former abodes in the form realms or formless realms, together with all aspects? The Vaibhashikas say that it is known through unerring inference. The outsiders say that desire and form are definitely certain. They say that seeing death and transmigration from the formless realm is from the unoriginated to the originated. The Hearers also see that in the realm of the formless, some beings in the sphere of infinite space die and transmigrate after twenty thousand eons. Similarly, from the peak of existence, they see some beings die and transmigrate after eighty thousand eons. "To whom" means by others. Sometimes, the beings of that place die before their lifespan is exhausted. Sometimes, two or three of the lower realms of the same kind are exhausted and then they are born. Their knowledge operates erroneously there. The Blessed One sees exactly as it is the mind of those who die and transmigrate, and their birth and all lifespans.
