It is for the sake of the functioning of the senses. Knowing the superior and non-superior faculties is like knowing the minds of others. Some say that the senses alone are not its object. In short, the power of knowing the superior and non-superior faculties is to know without obstruction the three kinds of abilities that sentient beings can obtain well. The power of knowing various inclinations means that various inclinations are desires for inferior and superior things. Desire and inclination are synonymous. Knowing the various desires of sentient beings without obstruction is the power of knowing various inclinations. It should be known that this inclination is also like before, divided into defiled and undefiled, there are nine kinds in total. Regarding the power of knowing various realms, the realm refers to the habitual tendencies of sentient beings' past practices. These are the special mind and mental events. Distinguishing these into defiled and undefiled, and distinguishing the realms, then combining the nine kinds of wisdom that arise from these. In short, the power of knowing various realms is to know without obstruction the thoughts that sentient beings have truly accomplished through past practice, as well as latent habits, and the various natures of the nature of phenomena. Regarding "Are there ten paths?" the "are" means "or ten." In fact, there are many paths, from the path to hell to the path to the heavens, and the path to cessation. Because it can accomplish hell and so on, it is the path to hell, which is the cause. The path to cessation is because it can attain liberation, so it can accomplish cessation. In short, the path can be summarized as going to the afflicted and going to the non-afflicted. The afflicted refers to the five aggregates of close grasping. Obviously, birth refers to the arising mentioned here. Similarly, some say that others are purely the arising of the aggregate of suffering. The cessation of the afflicted is liberation. Because it has the state of going there, this is the path to the cessation of the afflicted. Since all destinations are also paths, it is the path to all destinations. Knowing it is knowing the path to all destinations.
