Between the grounds of the fourth [dhyana], one obtains six, namely one's own ground and the lower grounds. Furthermore, what is the reason why the path of seeing obtains one's own ground and the lower grounds, but not the higher grounds? The path of seeing is the conventional wisdom of one's own ground and the lower grounds, and it also becomes the nature of ability by relying on that ground. Because the higher ground is distinct, it is not from the higher ground. Therefore, one only obtains one's own ground and the lower grounds, but not the higher grounds. The explanation of "manifest realization of cessation" is extensively explained. Cessation is the object of focus because the body, mind, feelings, and characteristics are inconsistent. The dharma mindfulness is the remainder, the four mindfulnesses. The mindfulnesses that arise from the edge of manifest realization of suffering and origin are those that focus on the five aggregates. The term "self-true aspect" refers to the truth that is attained by realizing a certain truth, which is its own truth. When suffering is realized, the conventional wisdom that is attained is the aspect of impermanence and so on. Similarly, it should be said of origin and cessation as well. Its object is also that very truth, and so on. That which is not its object is because it cannot be its very aspect. The aspect is the aspect of holding the object. The term "arisen from effort" is a synonym for saying that it is not obtained by birth. The phrase "it is the nature of the four and five aggregates" means that in the desire realm, it is formless, following the volitional aggregate, so it is the nature of the four aggregates. In the form realm, the volitional aggregate is colored, bound by meditative concentration, so it is the five aggregates. Among the sixteen with attachment, the six are called stream-enterer and once-returner. The non-returner is not included here because he is free from attachment. The statement "two knowledges arise in that way" means that only knowledge of the path and subsequent knowledge are counted as two. Knowledge of the path and subsequent knowledge are also the same. The statement "six will be obtained in the future" means that the stream-enterer and the once-returner can obtain six knowledges, therefore, they themselves can obtain them in the future, such as the attainment of the most special and excellent ones.

The meaning of being called birth. Because of being free from desire, it is called seven, referring only to the sixteen moments. On the path of seeing, even if one is free from desire, one cannot obtain the knowledge of others' minds, because it is manifest and extremely distinct, and there is no such situation there. Therefore, it cannot be obtained on all uninterrupted paths. That also refers only to the uncontaminated, because in the remaining sixteen moments, worldly knowledge is prevented. If one has not yet become free from desire, then, if the ninth liberation wisdom path is free from desire, therefore, apart from the ninth liberation path, any other practice paths that can free the desire realm from desire, in those, apart from the knowledge of others' minds and the knowledge of exhaustion and non-arising, seven types of knowledge can be obtained. The result of the path of cultivation, like the direct realization of the three truths, is the common worldly knowledge, therefore, in the knowledge of the path, the path of cultivation can obtain worldly knowledge. If the path of cultivation is a worldly path, then, if a noble one uses the path of cultivation belonging to the desire realm of the worldly path to exhaust what should be abandoned, therefore, worldly knowledge now arises. If one exhausts it with the transcendental path, therefore, from the four Dharma knowledges, etc., on suffering, origin, cessation, and path, any one of the Dharma knowledges now arises, because the path of cultivation with attachment is only the object of the desire realm's suffering, etc. The knowledge of others' minds is visible, because it is not without being free from desire. Those are Dharma, substance, suffering, origin, cessation, path, and worldly knowledge. Even if one is free from desire from the desire realm, one cannot obtain the knowledge of others' minds, because that is prevented on the uninterrupted path. If the path of cultivation is a worldly path, then, the path of cultivation is of two types, namely worldly and transcendental. Among them, one is free from desire from the seven grounds.
