In the case of being together with the two, the so-called "completely included" means that now it will become both the same as the two of afflictions. It is because these two are the same that it is completely included. If it is the same as afflictions such as desire, then it will also become scattered. Because it has been vowed that being together with the two afflictions is itself scattered. The so-called "being together with the two" means that whether it is an affliction or a non-affliction, it is vowed that everything is completely included. Other than that, affliction is scattered. If it is said that that affliction is together with sleep, then it will become both completely included and scattered, which is unreasonable. Isn't it also said that it will contradict the scriptures? It means that the complete inclusion of the mind should be thoroughly understood as it is. The so-called "contradicting the scriptures is not contradicting the upper sutras" means that briefly indicating the sutra is the scripture. Among them, contradicting the explanation of the sutra is not contradicting the upper sutras. The so-called "because it is also said that the characteristics are not different" means that scattering, shrinking, excitement, etc., are all said to be afflictions, so the characteristics of afflictions are different. Because of this statement, it is said that the characteristics are not different.\ Afflictions are because they are the same as many places of afflictions. The so-called "completely included and completely grasped, etc.", if the difference in meaning is not explained, it will not change. The word "etc." includes non-excitement, complete tranquility, equanimity, meditation, and complete liberation. If you ask how these can have no difference in characteristics, it is because it is said that "everything is good", so goodness itself is the non-difference in their characteristics. That is because it is the same as many places of goodness. The so-called "in order to correctly point out the difference in its faults" means that the fault of that affliction is its fault. Pointing out that difference in fault is correctly pointing out the difference in its faults.

It is the teaching. Like this, this afflicted mind, because it corresponds to distraction, is distracted. Because it corresponds to laziness, it is dejected, and so on, should be explained extensively. Similarly, the distinction of the qualities of virtue is also correctly shown, and so on, explained extensively as follows: Although corresponding to virtue, the mind is for clearly focusing on the object. Comprehensiveness, good grasping, corresponding to diligence, and so on, should be said for all of these. Therefore, like this, although equally afflicted and equally virtuous, in order to correctly show their differences, the words explain the differences in meaning. Because the contradiction with the sutras has not been abandoned, and so on. In the sutras, it is said that the mind is comprehensive when it is together with dullness and sleep, but it is not virtuous, because dullness is the place of many afflictions. Sleep is both afflicted and non-afflicted. This is not the meaning of these words, the meaning is the same as what the Westerners said. If it is said in the sutras, the mind itself, and so on, explained extensively as follows: The mind is dejected because it corresponds to laziness, so it is afflicted. Agitation is afflicted because it corresponds to agitation, like this, the Vaibhashikas acknowledge the meaning of the sutras, so they also acknowledge that the mind itself is dejected. Because laziness and agitation are the place of many afflictions, they occur in all minds. Also, in order to show the contradiction with the sutras, because of what reason the mind is agitated, and so on, explained extensively as follows: Regarding this, if it is said that the antidotes to mental dejection and agitation are differences of different natures, then, when the mind is dejected or there is a possibility of dejection, then it is not the time to cultivate pliancy, samadhi, and equanimity enlightenment factors. At that time, it is also the time to cultivate discrimination, diligence, and joy enlightenment factors. Similarly, it should also be said for mental agitation.
