Therefore, because it is also associated with attachment, it means that attachment increases. The word "also" here means that merely being associated with attachment should also be considered as a mind with attachment, according to others. If so, then that which is with outflows and that which is not afflicted should also be included as having attachment. The meaning of "because it is manifestly fixated on the object" is that the virtuous mind is manifestly fixated on the object and does not wander from the object, that is, because it is associated with non-wandering. Complete gathering is being associated with sleep, meaning that the objects of the five faculties are manifestly gathered. The meaning of "distraction is another affliction" refers to being associated with sleep. If the mind is distracted by being associated with afflictions and is completely gathered by being associated with sleep, then it is not reasonable for one thing to have contradictory natures. The meaning of "it is said in the treatise" is that if whatever is completely gathered is associated with this, then a contradiction would arise. It is said in the scriptures that the completely gathered mind knows reality as it is, therefore, the mind associated with sleep does not know reality as it is. The meaning of "the wisdom that knows it has four aspects" refers to the wisdom that knows the completely gathered mind. The language of mindfulness of the path cannot be the object of the mind associated with sleep, because sleep is entirely with outflows and is the realm of activity in the desire realm. Why are other mental activities not discussed here? Because this itself has already been differentiated here, how so? Just like the previously mentioned completely gathered virtue. Therefore, there is no fault in this. There is no contradiction with the treatise that faults one thing becoming completely gathered and distracted, also because virtue is included by the three realms. The meaning of "because it is associated with laziness" refers to being the nature of non-delight. Complete grasping is being associated with diligence, complete grasping is a synonym for diligence.

Because it is the ground. The phrase "relying on the small purity" means relying on small roots of virtue. Here, it is intended that the roots of virtue are pure, because they are purified by the virtue of their own nature. Therefore, if that is the case, it will be shown as "relying on small roots of virtue." Becoming great is the opposite of that, so it is said to be good. The phrase "relying on great purity" shows that I rely on great purity. Furthermore, in order, they become small and great because of the root, value, retinue, followers, and small and great power. To show that, it is said that "afflictions are rooted in two non-virtuous roots," and that afflictions are equally associated with both desire and hatred, so they are rooted in any one of them and the root of virtue of ignorance. The phrase "good is with three" is because non-attachment, non-hatred, and non-ignorance do not confuse each other. The phrase "not to be accomplished by effort" is because afflictions arise even when not desired. The phrase "a great accumulation of merit should be accomplished" is because it should be accomplished by listening to the Dharma and reflecting properly, and by accomplishing the meaning, etc. Afflictions, because there is no future attainment similar to this, only meditate on the nature of all afflictions in the connecting existence. Also, by meditating on similar afflictions, and because similar afflictions are not attained, the cycle of existence is not great. Goodness, because it meditates on future things similar to this, the cycle of existence is great. Because it is said in the scriptures that Dharma is the attainment of the accumulation of virtue. The phrase "with three aggregates" is because the form and mind of the afflicted do not follow. Therefore, for the mind of the afflicted, it is with feelings, perceptions, and formations, etc. The phrase "with four aggregates and followers" is because there is no meditation or purity in it.

The form of the vows is because the four aggregates follow the mind. The so-called "permanent destruction" means to cut off with virtue. Even a single moment of wrong view can cut off virtue, but it is not permanent, because it can be reconnected. Therefore, it is said "again," meaning due to the root, value, rotation, following, small and large power. The so-called "is the antidote to that" means it is the antidote to agitation. The so-called "not pacified," etc., is because it is afflicted because it corresponds to agitation. Pacification is virtue. The so-called "is the antidote to that" means it is the meaning of the antidote to distraction. The so-called "not cultivated by the cultivation of attainment and reliance," affliction has no future to be attained, nor should it be relied upon. Because there is a saying, "Attainment and reliance means the attainment of the accumulation of virtue." Cultivation means cultivating with the two. The so-called "that is virtue" means the meaning of cultivation by attainment and reliance. Those liberated by nature and continuum are not liberated. The so-called ground, affliction is also not liberated by the nature of liberation corresponding to affliction, and because it arises in the continuum of ordinary beings, the liberation of the continuum is also not liberated. The so-called liberation by the two means that because it does not correspond to affliction, the liberation of nature is liberation. Moreover, because it arises in the continuum of learners and non-learners, the liberation of the continuum is also liberation. The so-called "lethargy and sleep are united," means corresponding to lethargy and sleep. The so-called "completely stopping within is united," explaining this means not corresponding to insight. The so-called "is following distraction," explaining this means it is distraction. The so-called "the mind itself is completely withdrawn" will be explained in detail, if lethargy and
