It is said to be an obstacle. Others say that it is the very fact of not having attained equanimity. Others say: udāsinatva (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思), because one is not accustomed to hearing the combination, therefore, not generating liberation is the obstacle here, and the previous statement is reasonable. Here, what is called abandoning the five afflictions and being peaceful refers to the five that are in accordance with the final part of the all-pervasive combination. What is called the non-retrogressive Dharma is the Dharma that is completely non-retrogressive. The non-returner who is convinced by faith, who does not realize it with the body, is only from the result. Because the faculties are dull, it is not complete through the faculties. Because there is no cessation attainment, it is also not complete through attainment. Because one abides at the end of the fruit of learning, it is complete only through the fruit. What is attained by seeing, not separated from desire, is said to be from the faculties, because he is sharp in faculties, so he is completely perfect only through the faculties, but because he is not separated from desire, he is not completely perfect through attainment and fruit. The non-returner who is attained by seeing, who is not realized with the body, is said to be from the fruit and the faculties, because he is sharp in faculties and abides at the end of the fruit of learning, so he is completely perfect through the faculties and the fruit, but because he has not realized it with the body, he is not complete through attainment. The one who is convinced by faith and realizes it with the body is said to be from the fruit and attainment, because the faculties are dull, so there is no completion through the faculties. The non-returner who realizes it with the body is said to be from the fruit, the faculties, and attainment, because the faculties are sharp, and because he has attained the cessation attainment, and because he has attained all the fruits of learning. There is no completion only from attainment, and from attainment and faculties, because there is no non-returner fruit, and the learner does not have cessation attainment, because the fruit

Because there is no non-learning. Liberation through wisdom, liberation without conjunction with time, is solely from the faculty, named because there is no cessation attainment, so it is not from the gate of attainment. That which is called liberation from the aspect of both, which extensively arises, is because the faculty is dull, so it is not from the gate of the faculty. That which is called liberation from the aspect of both, without conjunction with time, and so forth, is because the faculty is sharp, and because of having attained the cessation attainment, it is the perfection of both. The path of joining is that by which, as a support, the uninterrupted path arises, like the supreme of dharmas. Showing in reverse from the abbreviated is in order to be in accordance with the combination of words and phrases. The uninterrupted path is that by which obscurations are thoroughly abandoned, such as the forbearance of knowing dharma in suffering. That which is called definitely liberated from the obscurations to be abandoned is: whatever obscurations are to be abandoned by that uninterrupted path, from that one is definitely liberated. That which is called arising as the faculty itself, the first is the beginning, for example, like knowing dharma in suffering and so forth. That is, it arises as definitely liberated from the obscurations to be abandoned by the forbearance of knowing dharma in suffering and so forth. Why is it called the first? Otherwise, if it were said like that, for what reason does it arise liberated from the obscurations to be abandoned? If it were said like that, this also, prior to the uninterrupted paths, because of liberation from the obscurations to be abandoned, would become the path of liberation. The special path is what path other than those, that is, other than the path of joining, the uninterrupted path, and the path of liberation. Subsequent knowledge of the path is continuous, except for its first moment, the remainder is the special path. Other continuous liberation wisdom should also be spoken of as similar to that, for example, the knowledge of exhaustion and so forth, likewise, abiding in bliss in the dharma seen by an arhat, and manifestly accomplishing special qualities.
