In order to dispel the notion that only precepts are taught through this conduct and dwelling. Know that it is understood from the sutra like a heap of coals that it is only an Arhat. How is it to be known? Therefore, it is said from "having long been devoted to mental solitude" to "having attained Nirvana." Furthermore, monks, when a noble disciple who is learned dwells in such a way, and kings or ministers come near and invite them to enjoy offerings, monks think thus. When the king's ministers invite the noble disciple who is learned to enjoy offerings in such a way, from "engaging in abandoning precepts" to the detailed description, it is impossible and there is no opportunity. When kings or ministers invite the noble disciple who is learned to enjoy offerings in such a way, why is that? Because this noble disciple who is learned has long been devoted to mental solitude, inclines towards solitude, has attained solitude, rejoices in peace, manifestly rejoices in renunciation, and I declare that all dharmas like places of outflows have become cool, have become cool. How is this to be known? This is the power of an Arhat, not of a learner. Therefore, this power is the power of an Arhat, and it is also said in other sutras. What is it? It is the detailed description of "all dharmas like places of outflows." Therefore, know that here too, it refers only to an Arhat. Said in Shravasti: Monks, the powers of a monk Arhat who has exhausted outflows are eight. Which eight? The powers of a monk Arhat who has exhausted outflows are that the one who has exhausted outflows is devoted to mental solitude, up to having attained Nirvana. And he sees desires as a heap of coals. How does one know desires, and how does one see desires? It is the desire for desires, the attachment to desires, the infatuation with desires, the immersion in desires, and whatever is the excessive clinging to desires.

Therefore, his mind is completely devoted to it and does not dwell, that is how he sees desires. He cultivates and diligently cultivates the four mindfulnesses, the four right abandonments, the four miraculous feet, the five faculties, the five powers, the seven branches of enlightenment, and the eight noble path branches. Here, all the dharmas like the state of no outflows are said to be like a pile of charcoal, and it is said "become cool, has been eliminated," therefore, this refers to the Arhat. It should be understood this way. Although there is also such a saying, the detailed saying starts from "acting like this, abiding like this" and ends with "unwholesome conceptualization," initially explaining that this is the stage of learning here. The stage of Arhat starts from "for a long time, the mind has been focused on solitude" and ends with "become cool, has been eliminated." So, what is the reason for such a complete examination? Because if it is not like this, it will contradict the sutras and also contradict reason. Precisely because of this, it is said "as long as the behavior has not been well examined," behavior refers to walking in villages and other places for alms. Not well examined means not fully understood. As long as the learner also acts like that, that is the meaning. As long as one does not learn like that, it also means acting with mindfulness. The others refer to learners and ordinary beings. Saying "those are the forerunners" means that the Arhats are the forerunners of the learners, and the learners are the forerunners of the ordinary beings. Therefore, learners and ordinary beings, like the Arhats, also have six lineages. It is said that learners and non-learners transform their lineage by subduing the senses. If they also cause the senses to transform in all cases because they abide in the path of seeing, the path of cultivation, and the path of no more learning, then to avoid this result, it is said "furthermore, there is no transformation on the path of seeing," saying "because combination is impossible," what does it refer to?
