It makes one know. Hearing causes one to turn away from evil. Hearing abandons what is not meaningful. Hearing obtains Nirvana. This is because it appears in verses in the scriptures. The phrase "listening to the meaning" refers to the thought of what to do if one cannot uphold the scriptures. Sometimes it is said that letters lead to meaning, which means that the name that clarifies the meaning is considered here as a letter, because the sutra says "the meaning is good, the words are good." In the saying "focusing on names," the word "say" expresses dissatisfaction that the third person cannot be established after thinking that way. Others say that this is said in terms of the time of the practitioner, and the realm of name and both, that is, the cause and result of hearing and thinking are completely established, so all of these will not only become the realm of meaning. Since definite understanding cannot arise from name alone, therefore focusing on name itself arises from attainment. When practicing wisdom, guiding meaning by name is born from hearing. Guiding name by meaning is born from thinking. Generating understanding of meaning without relying on name is born from meditation. Therefore, this is a special characteristic, and this is the idea of the Sarvastivadins. In this way, the three kinds of wisdom differences established by the Blessed One, if expressed in credible language, will become the three differences arising from samatha and samadhi. The so-called "in order to distance oneself from noise and unwholesome thoughts," the "distance" refers to being far away from noise, making the mind far away, that is, by being away from evil thoughts and noisy thoughts, the mind enters samadhi. The so-called "not for the insatiable and greedy" means that for those who pursue a lot of wealth, the mind will be very focused on noise during the day. At night, it is disturbed by thoughts, so their minds cannot get a chance for samadhi. Complete leisure is unpleasant. Others say that if they get something that can eliminate suffering, they will not be satisfied, and getting something that can eliminate suffering is

阿atrahi pra ri ta po ni wa rya te。

If it is said that it is not an obstacle to samadhi because it has not been completely destroyed, then there is no fault in this, because in this way, for things that can subdue suffering, wanting something better than it will distance one from the roots of virtue, therefore, it should be combined as it is said from where. This has been spoken extensively. Atrahi pra ri ta po ni wa rya te. Pari tas sas ca Will samadhi become an obstacle? Others say that this is unreasonable. The Dharma masters do not say this. When one obtains abundant and numerous Dharma robes, etc., wanting to obtain other Dharma robes, etc., is not knowing contentment. So, how is it? For those who have obtained Dharma robes, etc., that can subdue suffering, and also desire perfect colors, etc., clinging to this, thinking why I have not obtained this and this, this is not knowing contentment, therefore, there is a great difference between not knowing contentment and greed. Others say that for those who have obtained things that can subdue suffering, not wanting more is contentment; for those who have not obtained them, not particularly pursuing them is having few desires. Those two belong to the three realms and are without defilement. It is called contentment and having few desires because it is the nature of non-attachment, and it corresponds to the virtuous mind that acts in the desire realm. Those that correspond to greed are also the same, and others should also be said. Only acting in desire, because attachment is the nature of the root of non-virtue. This should be understood, in the form realm and the formless realm, there is contentment and having few desires, even if born in the desire realm, one will give rise to not knowing contentment
