Clinging together, clinging to discipline and asceticism, as well as wrong views, are exactly the same in essence. What is the reason? Because, as arranged, they are the same in clinging due to reason and certainty. Others say that it depends on the similarity of signs and essence. Because what is grasped and what grasps are different, what is grasped is the three views, and what grasps is the two kinds of clinging. How is it? One is clinging to the view that thinks, "What view is 'I'?" and the view that thinks, "What view is 'no self'?" The other is clinging to purity. Therefore, it is explained in order not to be confused. Others say that those who are particularly attached to the enjoyment of existence are more bound by the pervasive application of views; and those who desire purity through nirvana are bound by the pervasive application of clinging. The pervasive application of doubt is the wisdom that doubts and hesitates about the truths. For doubt, the word is called "Vimati" (Tibetan: བི་མ་ཏི་, Sanskrit Devanagari: विमति, Sanskrit Roman transliteration: vimati, literal Chinese meaning: doubt), which means to show something different from it, just like consciousness. Therefore, due to the difference of near transformation, other conditions are seen, just like universal joy and great joy. "Suffering, Nidamana, Nidam, suffering," etc., arise as they are truly determined, and with inverted certainty, one speaks of doubt and hesitation about the different truths such as suffering. The so-called "no doubt" is also for views and truths. Therefore, whatever is about these, etc. Jealousy is a rough mind. Jealousy is because one thinks oneself superior to others, therefore, one is displeased with the perfection of others, which precedes it, so it is said that the mind is always tormented and rough. This itself is because it is a similar cause of anger, and because it participates in harming others, and because it is associated with unpleasantness and what follows, except for the unpleasant sound of the north, it also exists in the desire realm itself through the way of object and manifestation. Stinginess is the pervasive grasping of the mind, which is preceded by obvious attachment to things, wanting not to be separated from it. This is also greed.

Because it is the cause of defilement, and because it enters due to the special abiding of implements, it exists in the desire realm itself. Other pervasive afflictions do not have such a kind, this is a detailed explanation. Shamelessness and recklessness, although both are entirely unwholesome, are not autonomous, so regret, although autonomous, is not entirely unwholesome, because that is also wholesome. The others are neither. Other than those ten pervasive afflictions, the others are said to be causes, because they are very sharp, and occur repeatedly, and because they are known as having little power, and are the cause of little enjoyment. To represent everything, the two types of afflictions together with universal suffering, therefore, show everything as four types. For the aspects of householders and renunciants, they create afflictions separately in the places of enjoyment and Dharma. For the aspects of gods and non-gods (asuras), because it is the cause of Śīṣṇoda (a Sanskrit personal name), that is, because of that itself. It is said that gods and humans have a universal combination of jealousy and stinginess. Therefore, jealousy and stinginess are separate universal combinations. The statement "the final category is the desire realm" means that, in terms of the three realms, the category is final, which is the worst, because there is no complete equal abiding, and because there are unwholesome dharmas, and because there is falling into bad destinies, and because afflictions are painful. The statement "does not transcend the desire of the two" means that if those are not abandoned, one will not transcend the desire realm. The statement "by the three, one turns back" refers to applying views of the aggregates, etc., if they are not abandoned, one will be turned back to the desire realm again. These are in accordance with the final category. The statement "because they are doorkeepers and followers and Dharma-related" means that the doorkeeper prevents those who approach from appearing, while those who hold sticks and ropes or other doorkeeper followers cause those to disappear, so that criminals appear and are turned back from afar, it is the same here. By the three is the end of sentient beings, this is a detailed explanation. The final category is two
