Greed is the desire for the three realms. It is also desire in terms of the basis and the object. Furthermore, it is the action of manifestly rejoicing in a pleasing object, and the mind's manifest clinging to possessions and enjoyments. Why is it called 'following greed'? Because it is in accordance with the afflicted mind. The mind that is completely turned away, desiring to be separated from the perception of what is not agreeable, is anger. In the explanation of pride, among the seven types of pride, the pervasive action of ignorance is the lack of knowledge of the three realms. It is in terms of the basis, not in terms of the object. Because it does not include the uncontaminated realm, and also because ignorance is focused on it. This is also an extensive explanation of the teaching of dependent origination. The pervasive action of holding views as supreme, with the characteristic of wrongly determining, what is the distinctive characteristic of the view of the aggregates, etc.? This has already been extensively explained. The five views are the view of the aggregates and the view of holding to extremes. Regarding the aggregates as self, and viewing them as permanent or annihilationist, is the view of holding to extremes. What is the characteristic of holding to extremes has already been explained. What is meant here by annihilationist view? It is the manifest clinging to the idea that the aggregates do not mutually interact. Then isn't this a wrong view? If there is no future life, then it must be said that this life exists. What are the similarities in nature, difference, and aspect between these three? Attachment and love have similar actions. For example, the action of an afflicted mind benefiting others is called being motivated by attachment. A non-afflicted mind is called being motivated by love. With the same nature, difference, and aspect, in a reversed way, the view that the aggregates do not interact and the view that they are non-existent, this is the difference. Manifest clinging to possessions and enjoyments. One should combine them appropriately, anger, jealousy, and the pervasive actions of stinginess, etc., operate in the desire realm. Following greed, pride, and

Wisdom and, view and, attachment and, the afflictions of doubt are of the three realms (referring to the desire realm, form realm, and formless realm). What is the reason? Because it is elaborated that "because there are subtle differences in views and the afflictions of views, and the view of attachment is also said to be so," etc., this is the answer to the question. The statement "when arising consciousness arises" indicates that the afflictions of view, which are universally present, are abandoned. The statement "when the consciousness of cessation has not arisen" indicates that the afflictions of attachment and the afflictions of subsequent clinging, which should be abandoned by cessation and the path of seeing, have not yet been abandoned. The detailed explanation of what should be abandoned by cessation and the path of seeing is: these and the afflictions of subsequent clinging, with their respective categories as objects, but not the same as them, because there is no sameness. The statement "universally present is because it is abandoned" refers to the afflictions of view that should be abandoned by seeing suffering and origin, which are universally present, and that is abandoned. Then, its afflictions of view are not universally present, not abandoned, will it certainly be so? Therefore, It is elaborated that "not universally present," there, the afflictions of view are not universally present, that is wrong view. That is with cessation and the path as objects, but not with attachment and the same feeling as objects, and also for the two views, with the same sameness as objects, there are no different objects. The statement "because the substance and attachment are similar" elaborates: Also, what meaning can be obtained by the similarity of substance? The answer is: it is the meaning of affliction itself. This will be explained in this way: just as desire and so on each hold the meaning of affliction, so views, divided into three, also hold that meaning. If it is not so, then the afflictions of the view of the aggregation of annihilation, etc., will also be shown. The energy of the three views is like that, the energy of the two views is also the same from similarity. Therefore, they are not shown separately as afflictions themselves. Since this is the case, then the view of the aggregation of annihilation and the view
