As for what is called "I," for example, the aggregation that arises now is dispersed, just like clinging to dispersion regardless of the state of aggregation. If it is said that the nature of the past, future, and present arising is merely saying that the past and future are composed of atoms, and no dharma arises or ceases, then the atoms would become permanent, because they do not change their nature in the three times. There is no change other than aggregation and separation, so in the state that arises now, the aggregation and separation of atoms will only become the past and future. If this is the case, then the aggregation and separation of atoms will always become the past and future. Merely the aggregation of atoms will not produce what is called the present. Merely the separation of atoms will not produce what is called the past. In this way, it is equivalent to raising the argument of the life-sustainers, who say this. The scriptures will also be abandoned, which is contradictory. How is it contradictory? The atoms of the eye are dispersed in the future and aggregated in the present, which contradicts "the eye does not come from anywhere when it arises." Similarly, admitting that the atoms of the eye are merely aggregated and separated contradicts "it will not go anywhere when it ceases." Because there is no cessation, it contradicts "the eye arises from not arising and also decays after arising," because the atoms of the eye are permanent, and those aggregations are not real things. The so-called "those that are not aggregates of atoms" means those that are not formed by the aggregation of atoms. If you ask: Why are they themselves dispersed? The answer is: Because they do not dwell on the object, so they are themselves dispersed, meaning that they themselves do not exist. The so-called "those" refers to feelings and so on. The so-called "the thirteenth source also becomes the object" means that if the object of consciousness is

Just as there is no thirteenth source of arising, like the past and the future, that is also not an object of focus. Therefore, it is certain that there is no consciousness that does not have an existing object as its focus. However, regarding the widespread occurrence of the term "thirteenth source of arising," the object of focus of this awareness that "there is no thirteenth source of arising" cannot be a thing, because the thirteenth source of arising cannot be seen by the eye, etc. Therefore, it should be said, what is the object of focus of this, which is different from non-existence? To the statement that "the name itself is the object of focus," the Vaibhashikas say, "Because it is meaningless." Master Samghabhadra says, "Because there is a synonym for 'non-existent' here, this expression, 'non-existent,' also gives rise to the wisdom of expressing its synonym." If it is non-existence itself, then it will be thought that the name itself does not exist. That is meaningless, because the name is not experienced by ear consciousness either, so how can it be thought? Master Samghabhadra says, "The thought that there is no certainty does not arise. So what is it? Because the thought that it exists arises, therefore those objects of negation are objects of things, that is, the negation of things. Because 'there is not' is said, therefore it is the wisdom of the object of expression. Because it is not appropriate to arise without an object, therefore it is the meaning of negation. For that matter, expressing meaning and wisdom, for example, 'a Brahmin is permanent,' what is expressed is not what is to be expressed, just as it does not exist. For that matter, because it is meaningless, from the wisdom of expressing non-existence itself, if non-existence becomes what is to be expressed, then any sound will become meaningless. If

If we examine the statement to refute things, then in either case, there is no arising, because that is its nature. If it is said that the sound of things is spoken of as existence, then even that is unreasonable. Because here, it is not intended to explain by the nature of the sound "it is not here." Then what is it? It is the meaning of the sound of the thirteen realms. By saying "not a Brahmin," one can also understand others like a Brahmin. What is called "not all others" here is "not a Brahmin." Sound does not have knowledge. The so-called "thirteen realms do not exist" here also proves that the meaning of the sound of the thirteen realms itself does not exist. These two natures of the sound of non-existence are considered to be the object of speech. Therefore, the sound that speaks of things and non-existent things is considered meaningless. If it is said that what is said, that nothing exists, is neither the knowable nor the speakable, then the pot and cloth, etc., should also become the unknowable and the unspeakable. Even things that have nothing do not contradict being distinguished by the difference of not existing before, etc., just like the pot and cloth, etc., which are different by dependence. What is called relying on the previous non-existence of sound is relying on the unborn. What does it rely on? There is nothing other than refuting arising, so it is thought that there is the unborn of sound. The Vaibhashikas say that there is only sound. Because the nature of sound does not differ in the three times. If that is the case, then "if that is the case," etc., will appear in detail. If someone relies on the previous non-existence of sound, then he only relies on sound, and can only obtain refutation, not others. If that is the case, then if someone seeks the meaning of no sound, then he must produce sound. He will seek the meaning of sound, not no sound. If it is said to be the future state, then the so-called unborn state is the previous non-existence of the sound of only sound. If someone seeks the meaning of no sound, then he is seeking the sound itself of the unborn state, and its function will not occur. If it exists, how can it become the wisdom of non-existence?
