Things are not non-existent as they appear. What then? It should be said that things as you conceive them to be nominally existent in a substantial way are not so. The term "happened" refers to the past. Similarly, the term "it exists and will happen" refers to the future. If it is indeed existent in that way, how should this be understood? One should refer to "happened" and "will happen." Furthermore, because it is non-existent, the so-called "past form or feeling" is extensively explained. Also, how is present form experienced by the eye? The ear, nose, tongue, body, and consciousness similarly remember the past. Other than accumulating there, how does one grasp oneself as "having passed" and "having happened" in the way that it was experienced? One remembers in accordance with what was experienced. Thus, the Buddhas know, because they possess unobstructed wisdom of all things, they know that other things will happen. If the past and future truly exist in that way, then how will it happen in the way it was experienced, and will happen in the present? Because there is no difference between the past, future, and present happening. If it is not so, then how will it happen in the way it was experienced? Because the nature of form grasped by existence is abandoned, the form of the past and future is non-existent. Thus, it is established that non-existence is also an object of focus. The teacher Vasubandhu said: Knowing the object of substance and imputation is not without an object, because there is no mention of two non-existences. Therefore, it is spoken of without connection. The so-called "past and future are also objects of focus" means that both are the cause of generating mental consciousness. Mind is the nature of the support, and dharma is the nature of the object of focus. Just as it is not appropriate to arise without a support, similarly, there is no action without an object of focus. All dharmas only slightly generate something by merely focusing on all things.

It is meaningless to say more. For the dense areas of knowledge, worldly measure is not an extremely pure wisdom, so how do they distinguish time through personal experience and memory? This is because, in this way, what is personally experienced, the future will not become an object of perception. But the object of pure wisdom will change. It is through its other aspects that the past and future are apprehended. On the other hand, it is precisely because of its existence that one can examine what did not exist before and what does not exist after destruction. Examining its nature does not depend on things, Just like a vase and so on. Therefore, it is established to be included in both. Therefore, saying that one apprehends the past and future is irrelevant. If it is thought that the future dharma can still produce the present consciousness, then, because there is no agent, the future unapprehended things themselves will produce results. The unproduced consciousness is also not the agent of the result of the owner of the future dharma. The result of the owner is: not previously produced, but other conditioned dharmas. Because it is said that the result of the owner of conditioned dharmas. The result of the agent is also not considered to be produced before the cause. Therefore, the future dharma producing the present consciousness harms one's own tenets. Therefore, it is reasoned that it is not a producer, nor is it a product. Merely admitting that it is an object of perception does not contradict the tenets. Because all dharmas are without an agent, denying anything with this does not deny the nature of the cause. If the past and future apprehend others and do exist elsewhere, then it will only become the present, and there will be no things that have happened or will happen. Therefore, it is admitted that consciousness will arise in other ways. If it itself is subtle, then what is happening now is subtle. The past and future are not, because they do not hold the subtle. If it becomes subtle, therefore holding the subtle itself, and through personally experiencing what is happening now, is it not memory?
