Therefore, others say that because it is permanent, the essence itself is substance. Like gold and so on, it is not merely existence itself, like form and so on, so they say. These moments do not have a similar cause, so they are momentary. Therefore, the first moment of the path arises without an equal cause, so it is not born from a similar cause. There is nothing among other conditioned dharmas that is not born from a similar cause. The moment of forbearance of knowing dharma in suffering arises without relying on an equal cause, because the immediately preceding cause of similarity is the most powerful. That very powerfulness is nourished by many dharmas similar to the noble path and its kind, and becoming its nature is for the sake of extremely combining with that meaning. In one continuum, the eyes and so on will become the fault of being two, because the function of both is seeing. The eyes and so on are only born from ripening, not from growth. The teacher Shri Palena says that sound is also born from ripening, because the ripening nature of other causes and so on. From the difference of the general nature of things, the eyes and so on are two kinds in one basis and continuum, because of the difference of their causes. Therefore, the eye does not have a similar cause. Because there is no different cause for it, as it is said, there is no harm to this. If it is said that the general continuum is expressed, then there is no fault. The similarity of the eye's consciousness arises, in its function, there is no birth from ripening, because the cause of the eye's consciousness arising is not from growth, if one wants to express reason, it is the divine eye. The cause of its consciousness arising becomes the fault of non-existence, the eye born from ripening is powerless, not born from growth, and wanting its consciousness to arise, saying that both arise there, then it has the ability. The senses are not like that. In the promise of the two, some exist by the nature of dharma. What is said, because of the cause born from ripening, sound is ripening.

The so-called "karma-born" means that it has already been distinguished beforehand, because it follows desire, just like the appearance of the body, sound is also not mature, which means that not all causal dharmas will transform into results. Otherwise, the cause of sound itself will be transformed into results by being born from maturity. Therefore, things born from maturity also contradict the causes that are not born from maturity. In the desire realm, it widely appears that past and future dharmas are endowed with virtue and afflictions, while what happens now is endowed with non-indicative nature, because it is said in the scriptures: "Non-indicative and attainment arise together." Mentioning the desire realm is to distinguish the form realm. Mentioning the order is to exclude spontaneous birth. Because states such as weakness, etc., start from the state of rebirth, Eye consciousness alone possesses virtue and afflictions, but not the eye realm. Therefore, when the eye realm is not possessed, one can obtain possession, but not the eye consciousness realm. Because it has already been possessed beforehand. Since those born in the formless realm do not possess both, it is said that they die and are reborn from the formless realm. Mentioning the second dhyana and so on is because there is no eye consciousness and so on there, so at the time of rebirth, it refers to the state of the intermediate being, because they are not without faculties, so they observe rebirth in the second dhyana and so on. They are not without the eye realm, because they do not lack faculties. Eye consciousness is because there is no ground for it, so the eye consciousness of the first dhyana realm manifests as non-indicative, therefore, only when observing can one obtain possession of eye consciousness, but not the eye realm. The so-called "dying from them and being reborn in a lower realm" refers to dying from the second dhyana and being reborn in the Brahma world or the desire realm, at which time one already possesses the eye realm, but not the eye consciousness realm.
