That. Although it exists, this is without fault, because it is taken as an example. Here, the sound of hand and language, it is to be definitely understood that it arises only from the cause of the great elements that can be grasped. Indicating sentient beings is the sound of linguistic expression. Others that do not indicate sentient beings refer to both types of causes of elements that cannot be grasped, other than the sound of linguistic expression. Thus, each of the causes of elements that can be grasped and cannot be grasped has indicating sentient beings and not indicating sentient beings, so there are four types. These four types are further divided into eight types by the distinction of pleasant and unpleasant. Pleasant is in accordance with the mind, like taking in and taking out. Here, from the difference of cause and the difference of self-nature, the characteristics of the various differences of sound are shown. Others say that there are also sounds that transform from the cause of the great elements that can be grasped and cannot be grasped. To this, the great elements of the hand are graspable. The great elements of the earthenware drum are ungraspable. When the hand and the earthenware drum collide, they arise from relying on both, so they arise from the cause of what can be grasped and what cannot be grasped. How can that be explained in detail like a single atom of color? The atom of sound that arises from the collision of the hand and the earthenware drum does not arise from the two great four elements as the cause, because it is the form that is the cause, so it is like the atom of color. Because it is not different from the body. The two sets of four elements are the cause of being mutually coexistent, says the scholar Dusang. What will it become from that? It will become the same or different from its kind, and it will also become obstructive. nanu ca pṛthivī dhātor bhātu nābhimā bhāgo na jena sa pratighātvam iti cinatyaṃ metata. (藏文,梵文天城体,梵文罗马拟音,汉语字面意思) The atom transformed by the two great four elements is external, therefore, it is not contradictory to say that it arises from the cause of the elements that can be grasped and cannot be grasped, says the scholar Dusang. Indicating sentient beings and not indicating sentient beings are the elements that can be grasped and cannot be grasped.

It is because it arises from the cause of tranquility. If the distinction between pleasant and unpleasant also exists in forms and so on, then sound alone has two aspects because it arises from the cause of great elements with and without grasping. Just as with pleasant and unpleasant, do forms and so on also arise from the cause of elements with and without grasping? If not, just like forms and so on, the cause of sound alone has two aspects. It is also like that for its own nature. The treatise says that this is the characteristic of sound. Therefore, with the distinction of opposites, it is described just as color and shape are described. There are also other distinctions. What arises from the cause of great elements with grasping is born from the actions of sentient beings and so on. It necessarily depends on that, what is born from the actions of sentient beings is also born from the actions of hands and so on, or it is a verbal expression. Verbal expression also depends on the places of words. Therefore, it should be said that there are many kinds of distinctions with virtues such as goodness. Showing sentient beings and not showing sentient beings, each of them arises from the cause of great elements with and without grasping. In order not to be confused, they are separately manifested and described. Just like color and shape, for confusion, it is also hoped to temporarily manifest and describe blue and so on, and long and short and so on separately. Here, there is no desire for confusion either. It should be known that there is no reason. Blue and so on, and long and so on, although the opposite of color and shape does not exist in clouds and so on, it should also be known that it is shown separately. Here, it is not to know the cause, but in terms of the treatise, whether or not the difference of cause is explained, it is like the cause of elements with and without grasping. As previously said, pleasant and unpleasant also exist for forms and so on. Because that intention is manifested, it is thought that this is the intention of the teacher. Therefore, here it is so distinguished and completely explained. Taste is said to be six kinds, because it is tasted, it is taste, taste is to be tasted, that is the meaning of the word. Having admitted the distinction of nature, six distinctions are shown.
