For sentient beings, (the Buddha) is their own teacher, not another (teacher). From the moment of attaining perfect enlightenment, it is said that (the Buddha) is "one's own teacher" in order to gather all sentient beings. Just as it is said: The hero's compassion is of one taste, He always intends to benefit for a long time, Sentient beings are poor and ignorant, They do not know you as their own protector. It is like that. Or, "one's own" refers to being related to the treatise, meaning that the Dharma manifests. In order to understand the meaning of "great self," the object of "great self" is "great self," which is the supreme of all sentient beings, and the object to which all sentient beings should take refuge. As it is said: Among all sentient beings, whether they have many feet, two feet, four feet, or no feet, the Tathagata is supreme. Declaring the perfection of wisdom and abandonment shows that the supreme nature of sentient beings is complete, because others (beings) do not have unsurpassed wisdom and abandonment. Because he leads beings out of samsara, he is the object to which all sentient beings should take refuge. Or, "great self" refers to the wisdom that has no attachment or obstruction to all knowable things, and is the friend of all sentient beings, namely wisdom and compassion. Because he wants to eliminate the ignorance of all knowable things, he shows the wisdom that has no attachment or obstruction to all knowable things. The phrase "leading beings out of the mud of samsara" refers to great compassion, because he has equal compassion for all beings tormented by the suffering of samsara. Or, "great self" shows the perfection of self-benefit and the perfection of other-benefit. Among them, "eliminating the ignorance of all beings" shows the perfection of self-benefit, and "leading beings out of the mud of samsara" shows the perfection of other-benefit. Because the praise of virtues comes first, he begins to prostrate to him. In short, the praise of virtues here comes first, embodied in the first half of the verse. The third line begins the prostration. Therefore, "after prostrating," here the prostration is done in the way that the praise of virtues comes first. This
