Because it should be prevented, it is not specifically indicated separately. If there is something here that slightly explains the limbs and slightly expounds, like this, because it is merely understanding, why compose a treatise? It is said that the explanation and exposition are different, and the other refers to the meaning for the future. Here, the Blessed One will extensively explain the four explanations. Here, from the so-called "affliction desire" and so on, it is to compose a treatise in order to combine with the twelve limbs of dependent origination. The so-called "afflictions, actions, and bases, etc." are to be known separately, that is, three afflictions, two actions, and seven bases. In order to show the respective functions of these afflictions, actions, and bases through external examples, it is said in detail here, "Afflictions are like seeds." The so-called "the dharma of birth where the dragon of afflictions resides is also the same as that," if there are afflictions, then actions will easily increase, because it arises from that, so if there are afflictions, the ocean of birth and death of some beings will not dry up. Actions should also be understood in the same way as the proximate cause for generating the ripened result, and afflictions are the distant cause. The so-called "liberation will not change" is because Arhats do not have the afflictions of re-existence. The so-called "those have been explained," how is it? Here, the so-called "the existence between death and birth" refers to the intermediate existence. The existence of birth refers to the moment of connecting the continuum in beings, and from then on, except for the moment of death, the others are the existence of the previous life. The last moment in which there is no intermediate existence appearing after it is the existence of death. The so-called "the existence of birth is afflicted," refers to that which is not virtuous, not unobscured and unspecified, therefore it is said "solely," indicating that it is only afflicted. Because the object of affliction is not distinguished, it is said "by what kind of affliction," therefore it is said "all afflictions." Are all existences of birth defiled by all afflictions?
