The reason why there is no special cause is that if it were, touch and feeling would become mutually generating causes, thus contradicting dependent origination. Therefore, two things arising simultaneously are not suitable as the producer and the produced. Because it is only temporary, it is said that "there is no fault because of desire" in order to avoid being seen as contradicting dependent origination. The Sutra does not accept this, meaning that the Sutra not only does not accept that the stages of touch and feeling mutually produce each other, but also does not accept that touch and feeling are mutually the result. The Sutra widely mentions "touch arising from the union of the eye." The teacher Samghabhadra says: There are two kinds of touch, nominal and substantial. Among them, the nominal is as previously stated, that is, the conjunct touch arising from the aggregation, collection, and assembly of the three dharmas. The substantial is the five aggregates of consciousness and the external name and form. These two depend on each other, and touch is the cause of name and form. Similarly, the six sense bases are the cause of touch, and so on. Among them, the nominal touch is not considered to be the cause of feeling; feeling is its cause. The collection of eye, form, and eye consciousness does not arise dependent on feeling. However, due to the arising of consciousness, eye consciousness itself is not the touch arising from the union of the eye. Because consciousness is the basis of mental factors, eye and form are also the main causes of feeling, so it is said to be the cause of the arising of feeling. The Sutra has already prohibited the nature of nominal feeling as mutually being the producer and the produced, so there is no contradiction with the Sutra. The substantial touch, that is, the touch arising from the mind, is a mutual cause together with feeling from the experience of reality. Touch is a mental factor, and as its result, it is not suitable to exist simultaneously with feeling. Why? Because the producer

Because it is not produced simultaneously. The producer and the produced cannot be established simultaneously, just like a seed and a sprout. Not only are they prior and subsequent entities, but form and other things that arise from the place of origin are also producers. If someone asks what refutation there is, then there is no reason for this, and there is the teaching that "it is not so." Then, how should sprouts and shadows, and lamps and lights be explained? If the first moment has no shadow and no light, then it will be understood as things that exist before and after. But in reality, it is not so. Therefore, it can be determined that sprouts and lamps are the cause of shadows and lights arising simultaneously. Here, why not consider the prior collection of causes, namely the lamp and light, and the sprout and shadow, as their causes? Furthermore, because they follow after going, dwelling, and changing, and because existence and non-existence are also their causes. Both the sprout, the lamp, the shadow, and the light are producers, but it is not possible to prove that the light belongs to the lamp, or that the shadow belongs to the sprout. Touch and feeling arise simultaneously, therefore, it is not possible to understand why only touch is the cause of feeling, and feeling is not the cause of touch, there is no such reason. Therefore, this is an approximate description of the inconsistency. Others say that feeling arises after touch, this is the view of the venerable Kamalashila. In this way, the aggregate is the cause-and-effect relationship of the sense faculty, the object, and consciousness, but not a simultaneous relationship, because cause and effect are produced successively. Because cause and effect are not simultaneous, the sense faculty and the object are earlier than the consciousness that is their effect. Immediately afterwards, in the second moment, consciousness arises, because it is the effect of those. The aggregation of the three, this is because the cause-and-effect relationship is complete there. In the third moment

The so-called "is" is because of the condition of consciousness that has become contact, so feeling is in the third moment. If that is the case, and so on. If feeling is in the third moment, then there is no feeling at the time of contact, so all consciousnesses will not have feeling, because the consciousness that has become contact has no feeling. The so-called "all consciousnesses will not be contact" is because there is no contact at the time of feeling. After gathering, at the time of feeling, the consciousness that arises is not contact, so all consciousnesses will not be contact. This is not what is desired, because contact and feeling are multi-locational, so they arise in all minds, and it has been promised that all consciousnesses are contact. The so-called "the feeling that exists in the later contact is produced from the cause of the earlier contact," broadly speaking, is because it is thought that everything is feeling and contact. It is not thought that it is the cause of simultaneous contact. So what is the cause of that? It is produced from the cause of the earlier contact, from the contact of the previous causes of the sense faculty and the object. Because of that, the consciousness that arises from the sense faculty and the object is wise, so all contacts have feeling, and all consciousnesses are contact, so there is no contradiction. The so-called "from different objects" is from the objects of form and sound. The so-called "the feeling used by the later contact" is the object of sound. The so-called "is produced from the cause of the earlier contact" is produced from the cause of the contact of the object of form. The so-called "how" is to eliminate anger. If contact and feeling are different objects, then the feeling that arises later is happiness.
