That is the greed of the land. The meaning of happiness? The meaning of suffering? And so on. With the three, such as the body, it means the three forms of the body, and also the three forms of speech and mind. To say that it is for the sake of happiness in the next life means that it is for the sake of happiness in another world. What is called merit is acting in desire. For example, those who desire happiness in the next world engage in things like generosity and discipline. These are explained from the perspective of the majority. Some who are deluded by wrong views engage in non-meritorious deeds for the sake of happiness in the next life. For the sake of happiness and the meaning of neither happiness nor suffering, what is called immovability is acting in the form and formless realms. Until the third dhyana, it is for the sake of happiness in the next life, and above that, it is for the sake of neither happiness nor suffering. For the sake of happiness in this life, non-meritorious deeds are committed, and this should be connected in this way. That is, killing and so on through the body, lying and so on through speech, and greed and so on through the mind. What is called the power of karma's projection is that which is projected by the karmas as previously stated, which is the projection of karma. By that power, that is, by that reason, because of that cause, the continuum of consciousness is connected to the intermediate state, and even if the distance is very far, one will go to that and that place. The intermediate existence is also said to be so because it possesses the six consciousnesses. If asked what is consciousness, it is reasonable to say that it is the six aggregates of consciousness. How is it? If the continuum of consciousness is completely controlled by karma, from the moment of connection in the intermediate state until the moment of birth, it is consciousness conditioned by action, then, by classifying that consciousness, it can be understood as the six aggregates of consciousness, otherwise it is not. If only the consciousness of connection is said to be conditioned by action, then saying that would contradict the classification of consciousness, because at that time also

It will only become the consciousness of mind, and only the consciousness of mind connects the continuity, there will be nothing else. Therefore, it is said, what is consciousness? It will be said to be the consciousness of mind, not the six groups of consciousness. Moreover, only the continuity of consciousness, at that time, is a part of the consciousness of the cause of action, not the continuity of the form, etc. If it is not like this, it will only be said to be temporary. It is said that ignorance, which is associated with the view of self and the pride of ego, is only the cause of actions, not the view of self and the pride of ego, which is not a reasonable statement. Here, because it is the result of the co-emergent cause, the view of self and the pride of ego that are co-emergent with ignorance are the cause of actions. Similarly, some people refute that form, etc., will also arise. The view of self and the pride of ego are because of ignorance itself, and by the power of ignorance, they become the cause of the arising of actions, so here it is said that ignorance is the condition, not other dharmas. Form, etc., are only relationships, and have no effect on the arising of actions. Name and form, the five aggregates, arise there. Here, name and form should be known as parts before death, not as the Vaibhashikas say, name and form are from then on up to the six sense bases. Also, if you ask how to understand that name and form are the five aggregates? Therefore, it is said, because it is shown like that from the distinction, from the sutra of distinguishing name and form, what is name? It is the four non-form aggregates, from the aggregate of feeling to the aggregate of consciousness. Whatever is form, all those are the four great elements and those that take the four great elements as the cause, these two, form and the previous name, belong to the number called name and form.

The complete maturation of name and form refers to the stages of nature that are closest and most proximate to the generation of faculties through the qualities of softness, tenderness, elongation, hardening, and so forth. Desire-craving is the craving that is experienced in desire. As for pleasure and neither-pleasure-nor-pain, it is called form-craving. In the third dhyana, form-craving is experienced in form with regard to the feeling of pleasure. The fourth dhyana is form-craving with regard to the feeling of neither-pleasure-nor-pain. In the formless realm, since there are no other feelings, neither-pleasure-nor-pain is the existence of the formless realm, which should be combined with the statement that all are afflicted by suffering. Taking up desire and so forth refers to taking up desire, views, discipline, asceticism, and the assertion of self. Among these, desires refer to the five desirable qualities, namely forms, sounds, smells, tastes, and tactile objects. Because they are to be desired and are close in meaning, they are desires. Because they are purified by the desire of complete understanding, they are qualities, meaning habit. Asceticism refers to the asceticism of dogs and cows, and so forth, and the word "and so forth" includes the asceticism of deer, and so forth. As for the naked ascetics, and so forth, this is also asceticism. The asceticism of Brahmins is to properly take up a staff and a water pot. The asceticism of cowherds is dung balls and ashes. The asceticism of wanderers is to properly take up a three-pronged staff and a water flask. The assertion of self refers to the body, because it is called "I," therefore there is the assertion of self, and therefore it is called the assertion of self. As the Blessed One said, whether a monk or a Brahmin, whoever it may be, if they truly observe "I," then all that is truly observed is with regard to these five aggregates of taking up, as it is extensively explained. If the body is the self, then it should be said that the self is taken up, therefore it is said that because there is no self.
