It is said that, having perfected the third dhyana, he dwells. The rest is as before. As for rebirth, it is equal to those who have increased in virtue. Then there are the immeasurable virtuous ones, and then the lesser virtuous ones. These are the ten sutras of the third dhyana. Here, monks, whatever kinds, having said all these, also abandoning pleasure, and having previously abandoned suffering, with the cessation of mental pleasure and displeasure, neither pleasure nor suffering, with equanimity and complete purity of mindfulness, having perfected the fourth dhyana, he dwells. Here too, the rest is as before, and as for rebirth, he is born equal to those of great fruit. Then there are those born of merit, and then those without clouds. These are the ten sutras of the fourth dhyana, which are the four sets of ten of dhyana. Here, monks, whatever kinds, whatever signs, and whatever characteristics, having completely transcended the perception of form in every way, with the perception of resistance ceasing and not attending to various perceptions, thinking that space is infinite, having perfected the sphere of infinite space, he dwells. He does not attend to those kinds, those signs, and those characteristics. However, there, he attends inwardly to those dharmas of the aspect of feeling of the object, or the aspect of perception, or the aspect of formation, or the aspect of consciousness, starting from there. Having completely abandoned all the aggregates, having an end, having exhausted existence, being free from attachment. Cessation, peace, nirvana, this is the first of the seven sutras of the sphere of infinite space. Having spoken this sutra, the difference in the second sutra is: it can only be seen with wisdom, starting from there, until one does not know any other existence besides this one. The difference in the third sutra is: he will not be liberated, having explained extensively, but will completely attain peace after being born. The fourth sutra is to completely attain peace together with manifest intention. The fifth sutra is to completely attain peace without manifest intention. The sixth sutra is to move upwards. The seventh sutra is not to move upwards.

However, just the aspiration for Dharma itself, from actions and so on, up to being born equal to the gods who closely approach the sphere of infinite space. Here, extensively combining with what forms and what signs, in all aspects, having completely transcended the sphere of infinite space, thinking "consciousness is infinite," thereby closely cultivating and abiding in the sphere of infinite consciousness. Similarly, having completely transcended the sphere of infinite consciousness, thinking "there is nothing at all," thereby perfecting and abiding in the sphere of nothingness. These should also be understood in the manner described in the seven-seven sutras of the spheres of consciousness and nothingness, etc. The remaining parts state that in all aspects, having completely transcended the sphere of nothingness, thereby perfecting and abiding in the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, here also there are six sutras. In the formless realms, they are from the agitation of weariness, and from existence, there are three sets of seven for going above the peak of existence. With perception, there are six sets. If one completely attains nirvana until the end of life, then if one completely attains nirvana in the intermediate state, then the venerable Shariputra and others would also necessarily become those who completely attain nirvana in the intermediate state. Sentient beings, except for the last existence Bodhisattva and the unpleasant sound of "Bodhi," mostly die before their lifespan is exhausted. Therefore, for them, the word "also" is mentioned in the scriptures, and the word "also" indicates reason as well. With one's own body, this statement is extensively explained, if there is an intermediate state of existence, then it is unreasonable to fall into the Avici hell with one's own body alone, because his body is the previous body. If it is not so, then from where can it be determined that it is his own body? What difference is there between it and other bodies? There is a difference, because it should be known that only the living are surrounded by the fires of hell. The reason for saying "with one's own body alone" is that it is unreasonable to enter hell with the previous body alone. Those whose karma is extremely strong and complete are the ones who can attain entry, etc.
