This action refers to things of different times. For example, eye consciousness requires the eye and form, and sprouts require soil, water, and seeds, etc. Some people think this way. Others say that "aggregation" refers to continuous arising, like soil, water, and seeds. "After meeting" refers to the simultaneous appearance of eye and form. Others say that the former indicates mutual encounter, while the latter indicates the operation of all causes. The previous explanation sometimes makes one suspect whether it is caused by only one factor, so "after meeting" is mentioned. Regarding these explanations, the first two are not the meaning of "after meeting," because there is no universally consistent characteristic for all actions. The latter two are unrelated to the statement that "nothing arises from only one cause." As it is said: Four produce mind and mental factors, three produce two samadhis, the rest are produced by two, because of the order of the self-existent, etc. In order to establish the agent in the time of change that has occurred, things that have not been done and things that will be done, things that have the nature of arising, are all of the nature of the created. How should it be said? Therefore, because it is of the same kind as that, it is not contradictory to the future, like milk, as stated in the sutra. For example, because it is of the same kind as that, just as both what will be milked and what will not be milked are called milk, things in the future that have the nature of arising and do not have the nature of arising should also be called created, because they have characteristics such as arising, through distinguishing the uncreated, because they are similar to their own characteristics and are of the same kind as that. The Bhagavan also taught about time, etc. If there are no other dharmas besides the created and the uncreated, then what are they? Are time, etc., created or uncreated? Therefore, it is said, "They themselves are the basis of time and speech, definitely arising with a basis," or it is to explain what is widely known from the names of created dharmas. In order to make everything not ignorant, it is said that they themselves are time, etc.

They are the aggregates of form and so on. Because they are of the nature of arising and ceasing, they are the nature of what has passed, is passing, and will pass, therefore they are the times, showing that there is no time separate from the aggregates of form and so on. The word "nature" should also be applied to each one individually. If in the world, the word "path" is very famous for what should be traveled, how is the word "path" specifically explained for the agent? In the world, the word "path" is also seen for the agent, such as saying, "This path has gone to such and such a big city, and is going," so the word "path" can be shown to the agent. What is it that because it is eaten by impermanence, it is the times? In the manner of a definitive word, it is a synonym for eating and decaying. Consciousness is temporarily whatever is of the nature of arising and what has now arisen, that itself decays by its own nature, saying that it is because of impermanence, but black is the nature of the past and not arising. How is that? There is no fault, because that is also of the same kind as that, like a peacock. Speech means pure, etc., and that is of speech. The base is the place or support, speech means name, and name means expressing meaning, so it will be explained. If name is the base of speech, then the aggregates of form and so on are not the base of speech, because name is only one part of the aggregate of formations. Therefore, it is said that the base with meaning has been spoken. Furthermore, when explaining the base of speech, why is it said to be with meaning? It is attributed as the possessor to the possessed, just as the object of a treatise is the writing of letters, and it is called a treatise. Furthermore, how should one know that the base with name has been spoken? Therefore, it contradicts the extremely established scriptures of the speaker, which say that the bases of speech are included in the eighteen elements. How is it not different? If the base of name is said to be with meaning, then since name is included in one part of the element of dharma, how can the bases of speech and so on be included in the eighteen elements? Like that
