It is because it is the son, and because it is not the nature of the proximate cause and has the same result. It is not correct to say that the great elements and what is made from the great elements are "one", because the great elements are not the co-arising cause of what is made from the great elements. Furthermore, what is made from the great elements is good and bad, while the great elements are neutral, and the co-arising cause is not of such a nature. If the neutral also does not exist, it would be too much, because it is not of the same kind as good and bad. Some also believe that the future and present made from the great elements are caused by the past great elements. Similarly, if some do not have the great elements, but have what is made from the great elements, then the nature of co-arising is not like that, so the great elements are not the co-arising cause of what is made from the great elements. It is also not the corresponding cause, because it is not the nature of mind and mental factors. It is also not the pervasive cause and the maturation cause, because it is unobscured and neutral. It is also not the equal flowing cause, because it is co-arising and also different from later births. If it is said that the neutral and the equal flowing cause are also because they are of a different kind, like feeling and mind, then it is also not of a different kind, because it is the same result. The so-called "three conditioned dharmas are mutually related" refers to what is appropriate. The so-called "actions of body and speech follow the mind" refers to the seven kinds of immoral precepts, from abstaining from killing to abandoning frivolous speech, which are encompassed by meditation and undefiled discipline. These seven abandonments are mutually co-arising causes. The so-called "everything that arises earlier is the equal flowing cause" refers to from good is good to neutral is neutral. If explained in detail, there are twenty kinds, if abbreviated, there are twelve minds, so it is said. The so-called "other" refers to except for... Good refers to being associated with non-attachment and so on. Obscured and neutral refers to the view of the perishable collection.

I am identical to the view of holding to extremes. Non-virtue is identical to afflictions and the remaining near afflictions. Those different from these are the obscured and the unspecified. There is no non-virtue in the realm of form, because those afflictions and near afflictions have no maturation; therefore, they are only obscured, not non-virtuous. Therefore, all minds that are in accordance with them are only obscured. The uncontaminated of the learner is the mind of the learner. The non-learner is the mind of the non-learner. When entering into meditative absorption, the word "virtue" appears. Then, after which virtue does which virtue follow, and by which ground is it encompassed and produced? In the desire realm, the virtue of practice arises from effort, and only that which arises from effort follows, not that which is born. For here, that which is born cannot manifest. Some say that only that which is encompassed by unobstructedness arises. Others say that it is also the first dhyana. Still others say that it is also a special dhyana. The venerable Dbyangs sgrog says that it is between the grounds of the second dhyana. Others say that, like entering meditative absorption abruptly without having settled, one cannot lead an absorption that is interrupted by the ground. When connecting rebirth, it is said to be "obscured." The existence of birth is afflicted by all afflictions; therefore, after the virtue of being born, it is obscured. In the realms of form and formlessness, those that are practiced, obscured, and unspecified do not manifest, because they depend on the mind of their own ground. The formless ones, etc., are extensively explained starting from the desire realm. Among these, the long duration of the support is as follows: just as a support belonging to the realm of form can manifest the mind of emanation that operates in the desire realm, a support belonging to the formless realm does not manifest a dharma belonging to the desire realm. Among these, the long duration in terms of aspects is as follows: just as in the desire realm, it can manifest coarse aspects, etc., the formless
