Also, like the second moment, etc., and the arising of the mind arising from meditative absorption, etc., there are four possibilities there, but here there are two, because there is no meditative absorption and no interruption. It is the immediately preceding meditative absorption, but the similarity of mind is not immediately preceding. The mind of meditative absorption is not the cause of the immediately preceding similarity of those, because it is not the nature of the immediately preceding similarity of mind. From the mindless meditative absorption, the mind arising from meditative absorption, and the second moment of meditative absorption, etc., there is the first possibility there, but here it is the third possibility, which is the immediately preceding similarity of mind, and the immediately preceding meditative absorption. The first moment of meditative absorption, and the arising of the state with mind, etc., there is the second possibility there, because those dharmas are not the nature of the immediately preceding similarity of mind, and because there is no previous moment of meditative absorption, the similarity of mind is not immediately preceding, and the immediately preceding meditative absorption is also not. Now, how the mind arising from meditative absorption is interrupted for a long time is called extensive explanation, therefore it is said that it is because it is not interrupted by other minds. The interval interruption of mind is mind, but not non-corresponding, it will be said like this. Here is the third possibility. The first moment of meditative absorption, and the arising of the state with mind, etc., there is the first possibility there, but here it is the fourth. Because it is not interrupted by other minds, it is called the interval interruption of mind is mind, but not non-corresponding. Therefore, the mind arising from meditative absorption is said to be the immediately preceding similarity of the mind of meditative absorption. Here, the minds arising from the stream of meditative absorption should also be said, because the result is the same. If the sequential arising is done, what is it? For what the mind of meditative absorption is focused on, that arises first, for the one focused on the mind of meditative absorption, that also arises as the immediately preceding similarity of that. The meditative absorption is also the sequential determination of the stream of meditative absorption.

What was done? Because there is no need for that certainty, it does not arise suddenly. Because none can accomplish the simultaneous arising of moments of equipoise, there is no need for that. Therefore, due to the influence of previous actions, a continuum of equipoise also arises in each division of time. Such moments of equipoise should also be described as causes by the certainty of what precedes and follows. The object of focus is all phenomena. It is said that there are no phenomena other than the objects of mind and mental factors. To show that everything is an object of focus, but not everything is the object of everything, it is said "as appropriate." To show that, it is explained in detail that "the object of eye consciousness together with its corresponding aspect is form." "Because it is such a characteristic" means that it is the characteristic of the object. The certainty of the source, substance, and moment will arise. Among them, the certainty of the source is that the object of eye consciousness together with its corresponding aspect is the source of form, and not other. The certainty of the substance is that the object that grasps the blue form is that alone, and not yellow, etc. The certainty of the moment is that whatever moment is the object of whatever, that is its object, and not other. "How is the nature" is a synonym for "what is the object of what." For ear consciousness and so on, sounds and so on should be similarly combined with this. "What is said is the same" means "it is so," that eye consciousness is only dependent on the eye, and not dependent on other things. The certainty of the substance of this should also be understood as the certainty of the source. Similarly, it should be said for ear consciousness and so on. Those that have arisen are those that are certain together with the basis, because they do not arise without a basis. Those that have passed are also together with the basis, meaning those that have arisen and ceased together with which bases, otherwise the past eye consciousness would be considered to have a basis.
