Attainment! If the attainment of afflictions is not cut off, then the attainment of separation will not be attained. Thus, when the attainment of which affliction is cut off, which cessation is attained, that is its own, thus names are established. Regarding this, since there is no relationship of cause and effect, etc., the question is: Then, what is the definite cause for attaining it? Because the attainment of this affliction is cut off, only this cessation is attained, and not others, for this, there is no definite cause, because the previously mentioned relationships are impossible. Or, this is the attainment of separation from desire, and not the attainment of separation from others. There is no definite cause, because the cutting off of the attainment of desire is not the cause, and there is no difference in the path. Someone says that "there is no" is just a refutation, in order to show that it contradicts the scriptures. The sutra says, "In the Dharma of seeing, the attainment of Nirvana," and so on. The attainment of Nirvana in the present life is in the state of the realm with remainder. Therefore, non-existence is unspeakable, so how can it be attained? Therefore, since the sutra says attainment, it is said that Nirvana is existent. In order to show that even if there is no attainment, it is not contradictory, so it is extensively said, "Through the attainment of the antidote." Afflictions and samsara are afflictions and samsara, and their arising is the arising of afflictions and samsara. In the afflictions and samsara of afflictions and samsara, arising is a very contradictory basis, because by attaining it, afflictions are no longer produced or generated, so it is called attaining Nirvana. The antidote is the uninterrupted path. Attaining it is realization. Thus, it contradicts the basis of arising that is connected with the seeds of the afflictions to be abandoned by it. Therefore, at its end, the basis of arising of the realization of the seeds of afflictions will arise, because the path has transformed it. Therefore, the antidote attains the basis that is very contradictory to the arising of afflictions. Attaining the basis that contradicts the arising of all afflictions.

Then it will not arise either. In this way, this also contradicts arising. Like this, if the seed of affliction does not contradict, then the basis that is extremely contradictory to the arising of affliction cannot be obtained. If the antidote is not born, then the seed of affliction will not be cut off. It also appears extensively in the Vinaya. Here, the example is that the so-called "non-arising" is like a synonym for non-birth. The teacher explained that "non-arising" is based on the aspect of merely ceasing arising. Therefore, it is said in detail, "If it is like this." This shows the thing itself that is characterized by non-arising, not just the mere cessation of arising, so if it is thought that Nirvana is only understood as non-birth here, it is not based on that. The seventh, "This is like being powerless," appears extensively, connected to "in order to accomplish the desired meaning." If it will arise here, then as it is said, it will appear, because the meaning of the basis is impossible, so it is arranged elsewhere. The so-called "only who" refers to the path. To obtain it means to obtain Nirvana. The so-called "Does it itself exist" refers to when it manifests. The so-called "If obtained" means if found, connected to the path. The so-called "Wish that suffering does not arise" refers to others, what is the point of examining Nirvana as meaningless? The so-called "definitely abandoned" means definitely discarded. Here, the so-called "abandoning all aggregates" is not contradictory to the so-called "abandoning." Regarding this, the seventh, "This is like being powerless," should all be extensively narrated. The so-called "His mind completely transcends" refers to the stage of Nirvana because there are no remaining aggregates. The teacher Vasubandhu said that the Sautrantikas explain the cessation of suffering in two ways: not a different thing from suffering, and a different thing from suffering. This itself is what the Bhagavan closely showed in two ways according to the differences in the intentions of the beings to be tamed. Some are not different things, just like mentioning "how not to arise from existence, and definitely arise from existence," and so on. Therefore,

There is no contradiction with the scriptures, because saying that nirvana is impermanent, that is also the thing itself. What contradiction is there in this? Declaring that nirvana also exists has become another meaning. Because all conditioned phenomena are of the nature of impermanence, there is no fault in understanding it that way. The so-called "cessation that is not another meaning from suffering" is contradictory to the assertion of the Vaibhashikas, that what is not another meaning from suffering, suffering itself, cannot cease suffering. Whatever is said in the scriptures to understand the cessation of another meaning, that is, the word "exists" is also said to exist for what did not exist before and what does not exist after destruction, which is explained again by this. Saying that nirvana is impermanent, that is also a thing, in this sentence, sarva (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning), ma (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning), li-kri (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning), tanna-hi (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning). The nature of things is impermanent, like a lamp, sometimes it goes out, so the Blessed One said that like a lamp, one must also realize nirvana, so the liberation of the mind becomes only permanent. All that is written elsewhere, excellent (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning), done (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning), not that (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, literal Chinese meaning), itself, from this explanation, it should be understood as a prohibition, because of the fear of many treatises, it is not directly prohibited. The teacher Samghabhadra said that the Sutrantikas say that the characteristic of cessation is not by individual examination, but only by being separated from individual examination, because the conditions are not complete, it is not born, it is called cessation by non-individual examination. What is meant by "conditions are not complete"? It is what is said that the conditions have not gathered and have not approached. Because what is absent is the obstacle to the arising of things, not the ability, so it is only that the conditions are not complete, not the cessation by non-individual examination. From the incompleteness of conditions, some dharmas are specified, even dharmas that have the ability to arise do not arise. If it is not so, if it is admitted that only the incompleteness of conditions does not arise, then it will follow that that dharma will arise because of the proximity of conditions of the same kind. Cessation by individual examination is not the incompleteness of conditions. Then, why do things not arise from the incompleteness of conditions? Because the conditions do not have arising, so it is not only that, because it is not seen that the substance of other dharmas does not arise, so it is an obstacle to arising.
