Due to laziness, some people, seeing only the seeds that approach in other ways, regard them as existent, thereby clearly elucidating the Dharma. Just as in a certain Sutra Pitaka, these causes appear to be combined. For example, depending on the eye and form, etc., eye consciousness arises, this is the operative cause. This is defined as the nature of producing and not obstructing. These three limbs of the path are following right view, namely, co-emergent feeling, perception, and thought, this is the co-emergent cause. This is defined by the meaning of mutually following and having the same function. Starting from "This person possesses both virtuous dharmas and non-virtuous dharmas," if this person has a virtuous root that is not completely severed, from which arises a small and accompanying other virtuous root of this person, then this person will later become a possessor of pure dharmas. This is called the cause of equal share. This is defined by the meaning of the past and present dharmas producing similar fruits. This should be said: realization and being similar to knowledge, this is faith with a basis of seeing, this is the similar co-existent cause. This is defined by the meaning of having the same object. Whatever view arises slightly, all of that is rooted in the view of the aggregates. Those who tolerate all views, this is view, because of complete greed, complete hatred, and complete delusion. This is the pervasive cause. This is also defined by the meaning of generating a stream of defiled dharmas with afflictions of equal and unequal share. ekānekāpikasyasarvatragahetoḥ pañcanekāyikaṃ phalamūrbhavati (Sanskrit Devanagari: एकानेकापिकस्य सर्वत्रगहेतोः पञ्चनैकायिकं फलमूर्भवति, Sanskrit Romanization: ekānekāpikasyasarvatragahetoḥ pañcanekāyikaṃ phalamūrbhavati, Literal Chinese meaning: one, non-one, also, for, all places, go, cause, five, non-one, body, fruit, arise). Here, virtuous and non-virtuous karma, with outflows and the results of maturation arising from meditation, there, beings will individually and truly experience. The results of maturation of actions intentionally thought and accumulated, will be individually and truly experienced, this is the cause of maturation.

Therefore, this is established by the attraction of different fruits. Thus, although those causes were clearly shown by the teacher Buddha, the Sutra masters and others did not see them because they were strongly rejected. The sutra that completely determines the number of causes as six has been lost in the teachings that came from one source, but it was entrusted to the son of the elder Katyayana by the gods. The Sutra masters and others rely on these knowable factors and, through the power of the objective and dominant conditions, speak of the cause of the agent. If it were not so, then all the phenomena that produce eye consciousness, with their unobstructed nature, would only manifest the two places of meaning, and such statements would be unreasonable. These three branches of the path should be understood here as mutually abandoning each other because virtue is the main thing, and they are not cause and effect. If there is one who is together with a small root of virtue, here too it is said to be the state of a seed, because there is no past state of self-nature. Those who are realized and endowed with knowledge should also know here that it is only the same endowment, not cause and effect. Similarly, it should be said how one relies on others, but here no distinction has been made for fear of the length of the text. The cause of the agent other than oneself. It is called, because it is impossible to act on oneself, it is said to be other than oneself. Others say that it is impossible for one's own nature to be the cause of the agent. Because of the meaning of unobstructedness, it is the cause of the agent. Things are also constantly unobscured by their own nature. Others say that if one's own nature is the cause of the agent of one's own nature, then ignorance and so on, because of the moment, this exists, therefore this arises, this arises, therefore this arises, such a statement contradicts the Dharma nature of dependent origination. The cause of the agent is called, there is no distinction made by the distinctions such as the co-emergent cause of the form element. All dharmas are called conditioned and unconditioned.
